‘The Mummy’ Ultimate Trilogy Getting 4K Release

Brendan Fraser was the original Tom Cruise.

Before The Mummy gets a brand spankin’ new reboot this coming June, you might want to revisit the franchise’s past – and a couple of home video releases are going to make that as enjoyable as possible for you. First up, May 16th will see the release of Universal’s The Mummy: Complete Legacy Collection, containing all six Mummy films from the years 1932 through 1955.

But what about the more recent movies? We’ve just learned that The Mummy Ultimate Trilogy is also being released by Universal on May 16th. The 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray + Digital HD set includes The Mummy, The Mummy Returns and The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, and it’s jam-packed with all the special features that were previously released with each film.

I know it’s from a marketing perspective but when you feature Jet Li over Arnold Vosloo on the cover art (the Mummy people cared for) is a huge miss. The third was honestly the worst of the series.
