Nightmarish ‘Kuso’ Trailer is Destined for Cult Status

Published

Steven Ellison, better known to the public as the incredible musician Flying Lotus, is behind Kuso, which is getting all sorts of press for the walk-outs.

Kuso is allegedly so gross and disgusting that there was a huge walkout at its Sundance world premiere — making this my most anticipated genre film of the year. In fact, our very own Ben Larned called it “the quintessential gross-out midnight movie.

Kuso depicts the aftermath of Los Angeles’s worst earthquake nightmare through music, special effects and animation to take a look at the dark history of America.

Ahead of Shudder’s July 21, 2017, release a new trailer has been dropped and it’s pure nightmare fuel. I’m not quite sure I could even describe what is shown but all I know is that I need to get a group of my friends together to watch it, preferably before dinner.

The film is produced by Eddie Alcazar, and features  Hannibal Buress, Anders Holm, Tim Heidecker and funk musician George Clinton. It includes an original score and musical collaborations with Aphex Twin and Akira Yamaoka.
