‘Rawhead Rex’ 4K Restoration Previewed With Trailer and Poster Art

Yes, director George Pavlou’s infamous Clive Barker adaptation Rawhead Rex (1986) is getting a 4K restoration courtesy of Kino Lorber, and it’s headed to select theaters over the summer and Blu-ray & DVD in time for Halloween.

A strange and amazing time to be alive, eh?

In the film…

Ireland will never be the same after Rawhead Rex, a particularly nasty demon, is released from his underground prison by an unwitting farmer. The film follows Rex’s cross country rampage, while a man struggles to stop it.

  • Rafael Fernandez

This movie’s not for me, but I’m happy to see any monster movie restored for the enjoyment of future generations.

“A strange and amazing time to be alive, eh?”

I’d say the time people were mowing down black people with fire hoses was a stranger time to be alive.

    • Munchie

Or when the Viet Cong were lighting babies on fire and eating their boiled brains, and also what the fuck does your comment have to do with anything? Is it just an unhinged rant kind of day?

      • Bloodkry

This is just him being the typical asshole that he is.

      • Ocelot006 .

It has to do with strange times.

  • Necro

Surprisingly no one has tried to remake this……..yet. At least nothing that I heard anyway.

    • Munchie

I could do with a remake, anything would be better than this amazingly rewatchable pile of shit.

    • Satanzilla

There was a graphic novelization that was interesting. The representation of rawhead himself was striking although pretty cartoonish.

Except for the cheesy effects I quite like the first half of the movie. But it drags as it goes on. I liked the short story very much and would love to see a better film of it made.

    • thegunshow

If ever there was a horror movie in need of a remake, this is it.

  • Bloodkry

I know this movie is cheesy but I enjoy watching it.

  • Flu-Like Symptoms

This movie is worth watching for Ronan Wilmot alone. Happy to see it getting restored.

  • Agent HUNK
