Here’s the Trailer for ‘Close Encounters of the Third Kind’ 40th Anniversary 4K Release

40 years later, make contact again.

Steven Spielberg’s Close Encounters of the Third Kind has been digitally remastered in 4K for a nationwide theatrical re-release in celebration of its 40th anniversary, as originally teased with a cryptic video earlier this month.

Now we’ve got a trailer, via EW. Check it out below, along with the re-release poster.

The Richard Dreyfuss-starring classic hit theaters in November 1977, and the 4K re-release is heading into theaters everywhere for one week, beginning on September 1st.

In Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Dreyfuss played a line worker who has an encounter with a UFO and then feels undeniably drawn to an isolated area in the wilderness… where something spectacular is about to happen.

The French version of this movie is just horrible.

GOD that’s such a fantastic movie! One of those that’s burned into my memory from when I first saw it. Glad to see it’s getting a 4K. Looking forward to sharing it with my kids.
