New ‘RE: Revelations’ Announce trailer, Plus ‘Revelations’ and ‘Revelations 2’ for Switch?!

Months ago, Capcom revealed that they’re looking to possibly bring Resident Evil VII to the Nintendo Switch, but it turns out that RE7 won’t be the first RE game for the Switch. Capcom has announced via Twitter that in addition to a remaster of Resident Evil: Revelations being released for PlayStation 4 and XBox One on August 29th (changed from August 31st), there will be versions of Revelations and Revelations 2 available for the Nintendo Switch later this year!

In addition, Capcom has also released a new announce trailer for the PS4/XB1 port of Revelations, which will include all of the DLC that was released for the initial Xbox 360/PS3 release, as well as having increased texture detail, and 1080p resolution. And as an extra treat for PS4 owners, there will also be a dynamic theme based on Revelations, which you can preview here. I’m not sure if I’d want a giant eyeball staring at me while I was going about my business, but it’s there if you want it.

Revelations 2 was really really good and not just because you get to play as my boy Barry Burton. It felt like an honest to goodness decent throwback to RE 4. Despite having an AI partner , it sucked so much in 5 and 6 if you didn’t have a friend to control your partner, the game deals with it much better by making them smarter and by having them not play the same way as Claire or Barry.
As for Revelations 1, I hope Capcom does more than just make it prettier because this was originally a 3DS title and it felt like it even in the HD versions they released several years ago. It’s not a bad RE game but overly simple for a home console game but again mind blowing for the 3DS when it initially came out.

Yes I remember it was one of the few games I had for the 3DS (sadly, I only purchased it for the Zelda games). I’m excited about the Switch release as I’m desparately trying to find games to buy for it.
