DECLARE WAR ON DIMENSION!!!

Ok, this just pisses me off and I know you’ll all feel the same. Wait until you read this- you ready for some of the most sickening news you’ve read in year? It’s worse than when they made Urban Legends 2. Are you sure you can handle it? Maybe you want to grab a barf bag or something? The news inside just makes me wonder if we should stop reviewing Dimension Films movies overall just despite them. Read on and you’ll finally be past my jabbering…
Now keep in mind the following news is FACT. I’ve received numerous emails about it and it didn’t click until today until someone close to me explained it better…

“Dimension didn’t have critics screenings for Cursed (review, #2), as we all know. BUT, they did do a TON of screenings for general audiences approximately 2-4 weeks before the films release. This was so that the fan reviews would get online, and take place of the missing critics reviews on opening weekend. There were numerous screenings in LA thru the month of January and early February. Here’s the kicker… They screened the R-rated cut during all of these screenings, even though they had the intention of releasing the PG-13 cut the entire time.

The R-rated cut that they screened had completed music, sound, FX, and even complete beginning and ending title sequences. Even the reviewers at Fangoria comment that they were screened the R-rated cut, just weeks before the films release. This way fans can read online reviews saying how gory it is, and how cool it is to see Shannon Elizabeth’s
torso crawling along the ground….then the young teens who normally can’t get into R-rated movies will jump at the chance to see it when they realize it’s only PG-13.

Of course the irony is that the film didn’t make much money at all.”

That’s just wrong…
