Special Halloween Screenings of ‘Ghostwatch’ Will Terrorize the United Kingdom

Published

on

Twenty five years ago, on Halloween night, the highly controversial “Ghostwatch” was broadcast on BBC. After fooling countless viewers who believed the fictional program to be real, the paranormal mockumentary was banned from television and was only recently made available for viewing here in the States by Shudder.

GHOSTWATCH lured a whole nation into terror as the innocent ghost hunting folly they assumed they were watching turned into a nightmarish experience live on television right in front of them.

Our own Brendan Morrow revisited Ghostwatch earlier this year, via Shudder, labeling it a “genuine horror classic” that was a “masterful and revolutionary piece of horror storytelling that truly stands the test of time.”

Exactly 25 years after the 1992 premiere, Pilot Light TV Festival presents a special 25th Anniversary screening of “Ghostwatch” that will be held at Manchester Gorilla on October 30, and another at London Genesis Cinema on October 31.

The screenings will include a live Q&A with director Lesley Manning, writer Stephen Volk, and other special guests.

Tickets go on sale this Friday, August 11, through Gorilla and Genesis respectively.
