Adam Green shocked the horror world just a few weeks back with the reveal that Victor Crowley (read our review) the fourth installment in the Hatchet franchise, is in the can and headed our way this Halloween season. Prior to the announcement, we had no idea a new sequel was even in the works!

Now, via Arrow, we’ve got the first batch of dates and locations for Victor Crowley‘s theatrical roadshow, beginning on October 7. At this time, 14 locations have been announced, but Green just promised over on Facebook that what you’ll find below is merely the tip of the iceberg.

Only about HALF of them are being announced in this first wave as Dark Sky’s roadshow team is still firming things up with a whole TON of cities/theaters,” he wrote. “So when you see the dates- don’t fear if you don’t see a city near you on the list just yet. Your city could very well be announced in the coming weeks (if not days). I’m literally going to be doing a show in a different city every night for about 6 or 7 weeks straight.”

Set a decade after the events of the first three films, Victor Crowley reunites Hatchet mainstays Kane Hodder (Friday the 13th 7 – X’s Jason Voorhees) and Parry Shen (Better Luck Tomorrow) for an all-new, horrifying journey into the haunted, blood-drenched bayou.

“In 2007, forty-nine people were brutally torn to pieces in Louisiana’s Honey Island Swamp. Over the past decade, lone survivor Andrew Yong’s claims that local legend Victor Crowley was responsible for the horrific massacre have been met with great controversy, but when a twist of fate puts him back at the scene of the tragedy, Crowley is mistakenly resurrected and Yong must face the bloodthirsty ghost from his past.”

Victor Crowley’s ensemble cast also features Laura Ortiz (2006’s The Hills Have Eyes), Dave Sheridan (Scary Movie), and Brian Quinn (truTV’s “Impractical Jokers”).

Writer in the horror community since 2008. Editor in Chief of Bloody Disgusting. Owns Eli Roth's prop corpse from Piranha 3D. Has four awesome cats. Still plays with toys.

New ‘Sleepy Hollow’ Movie in the Works from Director Lindsey Anderson Beer

Paramount is heading to Sleepy Hollow with a brand new feature film take on the classic Headless Horseman tale, with Lindsey Anderson Beer (Pet Sematary: Bloodlines) announced to direct the movie back in 2022. But is that project still happening, now two years later?

The Hollywood Reporter lets us know this afternoon that Paramount Pictures has renewed its first-look deal with Lindsey Anderson Beer, and one of the projects on the upcoming slate is the aforementioned Sleepy Hollow movie that was originally announced two years ago.

THR details, “Additional projects on the development slate include… Sleepy Hollow with Anderson Beer attached to write, direct, and produce alongside Todd Garner of Broken Road.”

You can learn more about the slate over on The Hollywood Reporter. It also includes a supernatural thriller titled Here Comes the Dark from the writers of Don’t Worry Darling.

The origin of all things Sleepy Hollow is of course Washington Irving’s story “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” which was first published in 1819. Tim Burton adapted the tale for the big screen in 1999, that film starring Johnny Depp as main character Ichabod Crane.

More recently, the FOX series “Sleepy Hollow” was also based on Washington Irving’s tale of Crane and the Headless Horseman. The series lasted four seasons, cancelled in 2017.
