30 years ago, we met The Lost Boys.
Grammy winning singer G Tom Mac was the man behind The Lost Boys‘ theme song, titled “Cry Little Sister,” and Broadway World reported over the weekend that he’s currently in development on a musical based on 1987’s classic vampire film.
It’s titled A Lost Boys Story, and Mac will be unleashing the musical’s soundtrack this coming October… before the musical itself comes to fruition.
“That’s something I’ve been working on for some years in development,” he told the site. “I wanted to give a back story to the characters and tell where they came from, and how they became Vampires, & their rebellious nature and youthful uniqueness, yet keeping in line with the humor that worked so well with the horror in the film.”
Mac continued, “I’ve written all new songs that bring out a good deal of depth in the play’s story, songs like ‘Sleep All Day Party All Night,’ ‘Be One of Us,’ ‘Long Hot Summer’ (Michael & Stars theme), and the ever-fun ‘Death by Stereo’. The soundtrack will give the fans a good way to get the music in them in anticipation of the upcoming play.”
