“Stranger Things” Ouija Board, Monopoly and Card Game Released!
Contact the Upside Down with the official “Stranger Things” Ouija Board!
With Season 2 headed our way on October 27, Netflix has only just begun the “Stranger Things” merchandising blitz. Sure, all sorts of toys already began hitting shelves earlier in the year, but you’re soon not going to be able to throw a rock without hitting *something* with the hit series’ branding slapped all over it.
In addition to all the just-released Target exclusive “Stranger Things” merchandise we told you about last week, including the DVD/Blu-ray release of Season 1 in VHS-inspired packaging, Netflix has partnered with Hasbro for a line of three “Stranger Things” board games that should bring a whole lot of fun to your Halloween season.
First up is the “Stranger Things” Eggo Card Game, which allows you to play as Will, Mike, Lucas, Dustin, Eleven, Hopper or Barb…
“Each card played can either send a player’s character to the upside down, make an opponent draw 2 cards, reverse the order of play, summon the Demogorgon, or cause a rift that sends everyone who was Right Side Up to the Upside Down, and vice versa! Players must escape from the Upside Down and get rid of all their Eggo cards before the Demogorgon attacks. Succeed, or be toast!”
Even cooler, there’s a “Stranger Things” Ouija Board and “Stranger Things” Monopoly!
“Gather around the Ouija: Stranger Things Edition game, if you dare, and unlock secrets from a mysterious and mystifying world of the Upside Down. Inspired by the Netflix Original Series, Stranger Things, this game board features the alphabet spelled out with Christmas lights like in the iconic light wall scene from the show (board does not light up). Summon the courage to ask the Ouija board questions about what happened in the Upside Down, as well as anything else you’d like to know.”
In the Monopoly game inspired by the Netflix series…
“Will Byers has gone missing. Players choose an 80s-inspired token or one “ripped from the Upside Down” to move around the board trying to find him. Pretend to search the town of Hawkins and buy, sell, and trade locations and vehicles from the show. The game includes Walkie-Talkie and Blinking Lights cards, replacing Community Chest and Chance cards, while Forts and Hideouts replace houses and hotels. Who will win the game and avoid getting trapped in the Upside Down?”
All three games are now available!

One of Clive Barker’s Final Convention Appearances Will Be at New Jersey’s Monster Mania in August
We told you earlier this month that horror legend Clive Barker is leaving the convention scene behind to focus entirely on his writing, with various upcoming projects in the works.
A series of final appearances from Barker will begin at Days of the Dead Chicago this month, and we’ve learned Barker will also be coming to Monster Mania in New Jersey.
Clive Barker will be signing at Monster Mania 59 in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, which runs from August 2 – August 4, 2024. Stay tuned for more info from the convention.
Barker’s official statement earlier this month explained, “… it’s time to focus entirely on writing. I’m not stopping public events because I’ve lost delight in meeting you all over the years. I’m as passionate as ever about sharing my imagination with readers and moviegoers around the world. In the very room where I’m writing these words, I have the manuscripts for a very large number of projects (Thirty-one of them), some very close to completion, others still telling themselves. There are some wild projects in this collection of works, whether close to finished or done. There are also stories that you all knew I would be finishing.”
“Abarat IV and V are amongst the books at my feet,” he continued. “So is the Third and final book of The Art and the sequel to The Thief of Always. There are also return visits to characters and mythologies you may have thought I would never return to.
“I hope I am still able to surprise you in the decades ahead.”
