Variety writes:

“The “Saw” team of Twisted Pictures and Lions Gate Films will produce “Catacombs,” the first title under the companies’ nine-pic financing and distribution deal.

Shannyn Sossamon and Alecia Moore (aka pop singer Pink) will star in the story of a young woman on her first visit abroad. She goes to a party in the Catacombs, a 200-mile labyrinth of ancient limestone tunnels under Paris lined with the remains of 7 million people. When separated from her friends, she becomes convinced that someone or something is chasing her.

Pic was written and will be directed by David Elliot and Tomm Coker. Production begins Monday in Bucharest.

Twisted partners Mark Burg, Oren Koules and Gregg Hoffman produce. Prexy of acquisitions, television and co-productions Peter Block and Jason Constantine, senior VP of acquisitions, will oversee production for Lions Gate, which handles worldwide distribution.

Twisted, the genre division of Evolution Entertainment, is dedicated to financing and producing films in the horror and action genres.

Elliot and writing partner Paul Lovett wrote “Four Brothers” for Paramount Pictures and director John Livingston. Now in production, it stars Mark Wahlberg, Tyrese and Andre 3000. Paramount also tapped Elliot to adapt “G.I. Joe.”

Coker previously wrote and directed the short film “A Day Between.” He’s also an illustrator for comicbooks and graphic novels and co-created the comicbook series “Blood and Water.”
