More Details on Sony’s Uncut ‘The Grudge’ DVD

In case you missed the news a few weeks back, where I reamed Sony for double dipping in a very unprofessional manner, the plan is re-release The Grudge (review #1, #2) on DVD later this year in an uncut version fully “Americanized”- Hilarious considering that’s my major gripe with the original. Anyways, a bit more news came out about what we might see on the special DVD that will set you back another $20 and you can read all about it inside…
Davis DVD writes:

In case you weren’t already aware, Sony Home Entertainment has an unrated cut of The Grudge due for release later in the year. This edition will include scenes trimmed in order to bring the theatrical cut to a PG-13 rating. According to director Takashi Shimizu, the extended edition will expand on the plot, especially the famous croaking noise that the ghost makes before it attacks its victims. Also included on this new disc will be an alternate ending, though not added back into the film.

All this and I’m still waiting for Sony to send me my $9 back…
