We briefly mentioned how Capcom’s Monster Hunter: World has already become the fastest-selling entry in the franchise. Now the game holds the distinction of being the fastest-selling game in Capcom’s history.
In a press release, Capcom announced that the game has shipped a combined 6 million units worldwide on PlayStation 4 and XBox One, and that includes digital download sales. The game came out a little over two weeks ago, and has a PC version on the way. The series has sold a combined 46 million units since its debut 14 years ago on the PlayStation 2. Monster Hunter World was also the PlayStation 4 Game of the Month for January, topping the charts and knocking off the previous month’s top seller, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.
The PC version is expected later this Fall/Winter.
