‘Water’s Edge’ Flows Into Classic Film Territory

Bringing my fond memories of classic horror films to the surface, a new horror flick entitled Water’s Edge is set to begin production in Arizona and Los Angeles in September. The film, which stars Jordana Brewster of Fast and the Furious follows a local girl (Brewster) hired by a group of young vacationers as their designated houseboat driver on Arizona’s Lake Powell. The floating party turns into a nightmare as a brutal murderer begins to kill the revelers one by one. Read on for the full story…
Variety reports:

Constantin Film will finance and co-produce the horror-thriller “Water’s Edge” with Sid Ganis’ Out of the Blue shingle, in association with U.K.-based Gruber Films. Jordana Brewster (“The Fast and the Furious,” Disney’s upcoming “Annapolis”) will star.

Shooting will begin on location in Arizona and Los Angeles in September.

Pic follows a local girl (Brewster) hired by a group of young vacationers as their designated houseboat driver on Arizona’s Lake Powell. The floating party turns into a nightmare as a brutal murderer begins to kill the revelers one by one.

“Water’s Edge” will mark the feature directorial debut of video and commercials helmer Chris Applebaum, whose credits include musicvids for Hilary Duff, Britney Spears and Kid Rock. Tyro Jonathan Goldman wrote the script.

Barry Bernardi, Sid Ganis and Alex Siskin will produce. Robert Kulzer (“Resident Evil”) will exec produce for Constantin. Richard Holmes and Ron Fogelman will exec produce for Gruber. Out of the Blue’s Mandy Safavi will also exec produce.

Brewster will co-produce along with her J-Squared partner Jordan Roter.
