Fangoria reports that Ti West’s The Roost (review) has been acquired by Vitograph Films and will get a limited theatrical release later this year. This is the same company that did such a fantastic job with Don Coscarelli’s Bubba Ho-tep, which was then distributed by MGM on DVD. The theatrical run will begin in the late summer early fall. Lucky fans in California can see The Roost at the Los Angeles Film Festival, where the movie will screen at 11:30 p.m. tonight and again next Wednesday, June 22 at 9:30 p.m. (I’ll be there), both at the Laemmle Sunset 5 (8000 West Sunset Boulevard). You can also catch a Roost showing at Montreal’s FanTasia Film Festival, running July 7-25, with West in attendance.
