‘Tiempos Finales’ Comic Being Adapted for the Big Screen

Kevin Misher’s Misher Films has acquired the rights to Tiempos Finales (End of Time), the Xeric Award winning graphic novel created and written/illustrated by Samuel Hiti. Although the title is in Spanish, the novel’s text is written entirely in English. Apparently the film will be distributed by Focus Features, a branch of Universal. Kevin Misher’s Misher Films has acquired the rights to Tiempos Finales (End of Time), the Xeric Award winning graphic novel created and written/illustrated by Samuel Hiti. Although the title is in Spanish, the novel’s text is written entirely in English.

Misher Films is developing the project for Misher (The Interpreter, The Run Down) to produce in partnership with Focus Features as a live action film. Sebastian Cordero (writer/director of the upcoming Spanish language thriller Cronicas, starring John Leiguzamo and Alfred Molina) is developing the theatrical storyline. The director is yet to be set.

Tiempos Finales tells the story of celebrated Demon Hunter Mario Roman, who is summoned by the prayers of a plagued South American village to confront the demons that control their region. Tiempos Finales, which debuted in June 2004, will receive its second printing.

29-year-old Hiti is a recent Harvey Award nominee for Best New Talent. This is Hiti’s first book in what will be a four volume series.

Misher made the deal with John Lyons, President of Focus Features. Focus execs are Kahli Small and David Gerson. Misher Films exec is Andy Berman.
