‘Sisters’ Remake Adds Two Major Stars
Easily one of the best horror films ever made is Brian De Palma’s classic 1973 film Sisters, which starred the beautiful Margot Kidder in duel roles. At Rue Morgue’s Festival of Fear Dread Central scored a little bit of casting news that you can find inside. Sisters is a horrific story centering on Danielle (Margot Kidder), a young woman who apparently murders her date, and Grace (Jennifer Salt), a nosy reporter and Danielles neighbor who sees the whole thing. Things get strange when it is revealed that Danielle was a siamese twin, and her nasty twin sister may have something to do with the murder…
Dread Central reports:
“Ryan and I got to chatting with Cutting Moments director Douglas Buck, who as you may remember recently signed on to helm the remake of Brian DePalma’s Sisters, originally starring Margot Kidder as twin sisters.
Apparently good things are happening with the film. They’re scheduled to start shooting in February in New Orleans, assuming this freakin’ hurricane leaves anything standing, and both Asia Argento and David Cronenberg have agreed to appear in it. The drooling fan boys we are, we can only hope Asia will be playing the role originated by Kidder, cause that means twice the Asia for the price of one! Nothing’s been officially signed as of yet, but Buck was confident it would all come through.
Cronenberg’s role, his first since 2001’s Jason X, is said to be more of a glorified cameo than anything else.”
