According to the story we posted here, young Damien Thorn was set to be played by Josh Hutcherson (Kicking & Screaming, Polar Express) in 20th Century Fox’s The Omen 666. Nothing was official and nothing was confirmed. The only confirmation was that John Moore would direct Liev Schreiber and Julia Stiles, and the film would hit theaters June 6th, 2006. Well according to our scooper, this may not be the case. Read on for details…
Someone who runs Hunter Ryan’s official webiste writes in:
“You have a story saying Josh Hutchinson (who is 13) is signed to play 5 year old Damien Thorn in Omen 666.
Hunter Ryan (6) is being considered. Director of Feature Casting at 20th Century Fox found him from his photo on an industry casting site.
Fox is very interested in having Hunter Ryan in Prauge as soon as possible for a screen test with the other principals.”
This does NOT confirm his role in the film, it only says he is being tested among other actors. We wish you luck little fella.
A remake of the 1976 horror classic about the arrival of the Antichrist in the home of an unsuspecting family. Richard Donner directed the original, which starred Gregory Peck as an ambassador whose dark secret –allowing a baby to be substituted for the one his wife (Lee Remick) lost in childbirth — comes back to haunt him when the hellish prodigal son begins to hit his evil stride.
