If there weren’t enough Asian remakes already in thr works, Gold Circle Films is joining in the fun- starting with a remake of Kiyoshi Kurosawa’s The Loft, according to Variety. Gold Circle may fully finance pictures with budgets in the $10 million-$20 million range. Costlier efforts are likely to be made with a studio partner. Gold Circle has a first-look deal at Universal and a second-look deal at Paramount. It is in post with “Slither” and “Whisper,” both set for release through Universal in 2006. Gold Circle also has a relationship with international sales outfit Mandrake. Watch for more news soon.
