Let the battle of the genres begin! Today Sony puts an old tactic to test- can not screening a film actually help its box office numbers? The Fog, which was not screened for critics, opens in a whopping 2,700+ theaters across the Nation- but it’ll have to duke it out with both New Line Cinema’s Domino (review), which opens in 2,000 theaters and Paramount Pictures’ Elizabethtown, which opens in 2,500 theaters. Also hitting limited theaters is ThinkFilm’s Where the Truth Lies (review). Who will win? From what I’ve been told The Fog is tracking quite well, so we’ll see if they can blind the general audience with how terrible it truly is.
