‘Day of the Dead’ Remake Finds Classic Genre Director
After their ridiculous home video release of Day of the Dead 2: Contagium, I sure hope that this director can polish the mega-turd that is sure to become of the script for the Day of the Dead remake. After Universal’s remake of Dawn of the Dead, I’m not really against this particular remake- only the companies behind it. It’s going to be a long hard and uncomfortable road for us fans, but hopefully this ‘special’ director can bring us something special. Read on to see who it is…
Here’s a blast from the past, Friday the 13th part 2 and part 3-D director Steve Miner has signed on to direct Day of the Dead, the Millennium Films and Emmett/Furla Films remake of George Romero’s 1985 zombie film, according to Variety. Final Destination screenwriter Jeffrey Redd(ick is currently writing the script.
The original follows a group of scientists and military personnel holed up in an underground bunker because the world above is overrun with zombies. The lumbering flesheaters eventually find a way in and wreak havoc on the scientists who’ve been experimenting on their undead brethren.
Miner has also directed such horror films as Halloween H2O and Lake Placid.
