Review: Revisiting ‘Pulse’ and ‘Horror Business’

Today we’ve added one new review and bumped up an old one. Magnolia Pictures releases Kiyoshi Kurosawa’s classic Japanese horror film Pulse (aka Kairo) in NY theaters tomorrow with a wider release starting next Friday. Pulse is one of the first Asian horror films to become available on the black market next to Ringu here in the States, and in my mind, will always be remembered as one of the film that started the trend. Click the title above for pics, trailers and a synopsis. Also added today is a review for Christopher P. Garetano’s indie horror documentary Horror Business. The director writes “Welcome to the strange universe of Horror Business, a documentary that has been a twenty-four hour a day, seven-day-a-week obsession of mine since I began shooting it in January of 2003. I traveled all over the United States and have shot over 60 hours of footage of the most interesting independent filmmakers alive…”
