John Polson has signed on to direct writer Emil Stern’s adaptation of Robert Cormier’s teen serial killer novel Tenderness, GreeneStreet Films announced Wednesday, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Principal production is scheduled for early 2006, with CAA handling domestic sales for the film. GreeneStreet is financing the project and producing it with Howard Meltzer of Turtleback Prods. Charles Randolph is the film’s executive producer. The book, from best-selling author Cormier (“The Chocolate War”), tells of a teen runaway who becomes entangled with a charming serial killer around her own age.
