Gold Circle Films Goes Horror Crazy!
Over the past few weeks Gold Circle Films has made a handful of new announcements, and pretty much all of them have been horror or thriller genre related. Today they’ve made two more announcements, both supernatural thrillers- one entitled The Puritan and the other is The Healer. Read on for the story on both…
Variety reports:
Gold Circle Films has tapped scribe Eric Poppen (“Borderland”) for a pair of supernatural thrillers, “The Puritan” and “The Healer.”
“The Puritan,” which is going out to directors, centers on a psychiatrist and his family who are threatened by an evil spirit after the shrink begins treating a patient who claims her family has been haunted for many years.
Producers are Gold Circle topper Paul Brooks, Nicole Rocklin and Shane Taylor, with Wendy Rhoads co-producing. Scott Niemeyer and Norm Waitt exec produce.
“The Healer” revolves around an American doctor who journeys to Mexico find a mysterious healer able to cure terminally ill patients.
Brooks will produce; Rhoads, who has a first-look deal with Gold Circle, will co-produce, with Niemeyer and Waitt exec producing.
Gold Circle’s Brad Kessell will oversee both projects.
