Read on for a link to watch the trailer: Today I received a tip to a link, which I was not allowed to post, where I had the pleasure of checking out the brand spanking new trailer for 20th Century Fox’s The Omen remake (tons of pictures here). Before I give you a quick dab of what you’ll see I’d like to point you in the direction of the newly launched official website, which bears the new logo as well as the initial teaser trailer. The John Moore directed pic stars Julia Stiles, Liev Schreiber, Mia Farrow, David Thewlis, Pete Postlethwaite, Michael Gambon and Seamus Davey-Fitzpatrick. Read on for the skinny on the trailer you’ll (probably) see tomorrow)…
Beware the second coming… of the Omen trailer.
Opening with Church bells blasting in the background and a montage of visual signs of the apocalypse (ie storms, wars, etc) mixed with signs of Christianity (the cross, Jesus), the trailer shifts to the Pope dying and a new baby being born — it’s Damien.
Now we get flashes of explosions, gorillas screaming, dogs barking, along with various recognizable shots from the original ‘Omen’. We see the mark of the beast on Damien’s head, a dead baby’s skeleton in the ground, children running and crying, a woman hanging herself, the devil and then…. Julia Stiles in a hospital whispering “Don’t let him kill me…”
Chilling to say the least. I can’t wait until 6-6-06!
The prophecy is clear, the signs unmistakable: Armageddon is upon us. On 6 / 6 / 06, the omen is revealed…and our darkest fears are realized. THE OMEN, a contemporary thriller based on the 1976 classic film, centers around a young boy named Damien, the son of an American diplomat and his wife. Damien’s family is unaware he is destined to become the Anti-Christ – until shattering events reveal the terrifying truth.
