Tatopoulos to Create Viking Monsters in ‘Outlander’

What I’m about to show you sounds like it could be one of the coolest sci-fi horror films in decades. The one thing that this movie depends on though, is how much money it has and how well it’s put to use. There’s nothing worse than a shitty period piece, and from the looks of past films it’s not going to be an easy task to tackle. The epic sci-fi creature feature “Outlander” is scheduled to begin ten weeks of principal photography on October 9th taking in locations around Halifax and British Columbia, according to Production Weekly.

Howard McCain in helming from his own screenplay, which he co-penned with Drik Blackman.

In the script a human-like alien crashes on Earth in 509 AD who inadvertently releasing a horrible monster that he must destroy with the help of a barbaric Viking tribe. The alien creature in the film, called Moorwen, is being created by creature designer Patrick Tatopoulos (Underworld, I Robot, Godzilla).
