‘The Abandoned’ Review Added, Date Announced!
Eight years have come and gone… but it’s time for the wait to end. Mark December 1st as the day Nacho Cerda’s The Abandoned (review) hit theaters thanks to Freestyle Releasing. If you’ve never seen Nacho’s Aftermath/Genesis, then you have no clue of what you’re in for. In the film an American film producer named Marie returns to her homeland, Russia, where her mother’s dead body has been found under bizarre circumstances. She never knew her, having been adopted and brought to America as a baby. The only clue to what might have happened is an isolated, abandoned farm in the mountains that supposedly belonged to her natural parents. ‘Abandoned’ played as part of this year’s Toronto International Film Festival.
