Today Rob Zombie revealed that he’ll be doing a behind-the-scenes doc for his upcomign remake of Halloween, but that’s not the only good news he’s shared with the horror world, Rob tells fans via his MySpace page that he’s just seen the new mask for Michael Myers (Tyler Mane). The question everyone’s been asking is, what exactly will it look like? Read on for the skinny.
Writer/Producer/Director Rob Zombie writes on his MySpace Blog: “I’ve just seen Wayne Toth’s finished mask for Michael and all I can say is “HOLY FUCK”. It looks perfect. exactly like the original. Not since 1978 has the shape looked so good. Wayne worked this sucker to death and boy did it pay off.”
So far it sounds to me like Rob is really headed in the right direction and keeping it real for us uber fans. Why change something that worked so perfectly in the first place? Go Toth, we loved what you did on Rob’s other two films and can’t wait to see your masterpiece!
So far the confirmed cast is Tyler Mane (Michael Myers), Malcolm McDowell (Dr. Loomis), Daeg Faerch (young Michael Myers) and Heather Bowen.
After being committed for 17 years, Michael Myers, now a grown man and still very dangerous, is mistakenly released from the mental institution (where he was committed as a 10 year old) and he immediately returns to Haddonfield, where he wants to find his baby sister, Laurie. Anyone who crosses his path is in mortal danger.
Zombie’s vision of this film is an entirely new take on the legend and will satisfy fans of the classic “Halloween” legacy while beginning a new chapter in the Michael Myers saga. “This is a bit of a prequel and a remake, combined,” says Zombie.
