Horror Still Tearing Up Theaters
Although Scary Movie 3 (review) stayed on top of the box office pulling in 21 million for a two-week total of 78.6 million, it still dropped a whopping 56% and a even more astounding 75% on Friday. Either way, 78.6 million dollars is a big winner. On the other side of the genre, Texas Chainsaw Massacre (review) only dropped 24.7% this weekend and pulled in another 10.9 million making its three-week total 66.1 million. The re-release of the amazing Alien was another story, cut to only 347 screens; Ridley Scott’s flick took in an impressive 1.3 million, which is $2,997 per screen.
