Cannes: ‘Ghostwood’ Explores Ireland’s Terrifying Past

Swedish sales company NonStop Sales has picked up worldwide rights to Irish thriller Ghostwood, which is helmed by Irish director Justin O’Brien and stars Alan Devine (Veronica Guerin, King Arthur), Patrick Bergin (Sleeping with the Enemy) and Louise Osbourne (Dr Doolittle, Murder She Wrote), according to Variety. The supernatural chiller takes its queue from the mythology about Ireland’s mysterious and often terrifying past. The main character, Ed Hunter, tries to solve the mysterious disappearance of his father. He travels to a remote part of Ireland and finds a little village that for centuries has been isolated and living in fear.
