[E3 2013] Bungie Has Blown My Mind With This ‘Destiny’ Footage

The makers of Halo have been hard at work on a brand new IP called Destiny. It was officially announced way back in February, but it wasn’t until last night that we got a real good look at the game. Visually, it’s gorgeous, though that should come as no surprise. What’s particularly interesting is how it brings together dynamic co-op — your friends can join you via drop ship in real time — with MMO and RPG gameplay. There’s a deep skill system, multiple character classes, epic loot, and Public Events, which consist of many players partaking in large scale battles. Check out its new trailer and twelve minutes of gameplay, after the jump.

New Image Of ‘Godzilla’ Destruction!

We’ve got a photo of what appears to be a natural byproduct of Godzilla trampling your neighborhood, courtesy of Legendary Pictures. I’m assuming this is one of countless vehicles that have been “altered” for the film!

Making his first appearance in 1954 (Gojira) Godzilla is a giant monster that lives in the sea that comes from the ocean to feed on mankind. Warner Bros. will unleash his fury on May 16, 2014. I can’t wait for this.

Elizabeth Olsen, Bryan Cranston, Aaron Johnson, Juliette Binoche, David Strathairn, Ken Watanabe, Richard T. Jones, Sally Hawkins, Akira Takarada, Victor Rasuk, and Yuki Morita all star in the film to be directed by Monsters helmer Gareth Edwards. READ MORE

[Album Review] Black Sabbath ‘13’

When it was announced that the legendary Black Sabbath was reuniting and would be releasing a new album, the music world rejoiced. The very thought of Ozzy Osbourne, Geezer Butler, Tony Iommi, and Bill Ward all joining each other in the studio to record new music was something that had seemed, for ages, an impossibility. After all, if 35 years since Never Say Die! wasn’t enough to make this seem like a myth, surely the age of each member was enough to be the final nail in the coffin. But no, the band dismissed all, stuck their devil horns in the air, and proclaimed, “We once said ‘never say die’ and we fucking meant it!”

Then came Iommi’s lymphoma and the departure of Bill Ward. Suddenly the fate of the album was cast into doubt and no one knew for certain if it was ever going to see the light of day. Then came the questions of, “Was it even necessary?” But the group stuck to their guns and enlisted the aid of Rage Against The Machine drummer Brad Wilk to record all percussion. The album moved forward under the guidance of renowned producer Rick Rubin and 13 was born.

Now, today, the album is available for the world to hear. Have the pioneers of heavy metal been able to deliver yet another album that inspires millions of aspiring musicians or has age tamed these once wild beasts? Find out below. READ MORE

[Toys] NECA Reveals “Holographic” Versions Of ‘Prometheus’ Engineers!

While I already struggle with “space” for NECA’s cool figures, these are the days I pull my hair out in jealousy of those with basements.

Figures.com reports that NECA’s third assortment of Prometheus action figures had undergone a lineup change.

The new lineup, releasing this September, features “Holographic” versions of the Pressure Suit and Chair Suit Engineers. Using translucent blue plastic and hand-painted deco, these figures capture the holographic appearance of the Engineers as they are first seen by the crew – on the run from something terrible.

Each figure stands over 8″ tall and features over 20 points of articulation. Also, both Engineers include a brand new Ampule accessory which can be opened to reveal the mysterious contents inside. READ MORE

I don’t think I’m as skeptical about Batman Arkham Origins and many others. Though I am that way about a lot of things. I do love me a good origin story as well. The main force driving the story of Arkham Origins is that there is a 50 million dollar bounty on Batman’s head. So all the badies in town are out to kill him dead. Spoiler alert, he lives. I know, shocker, but supposedly there have been a couple games about him already released. Check out the new game play trailer past the break!

It’s So Weird Watching Michael Cera Get Creepy In This ‘Magic, Magic’ Trailer

Sony Pictures took Sebastian Silva’s thriller Magic Magic to the Sundance Film Festival and got quite a bit of buzz. Starring Michael Cera, Juno Temple, Emily Browning and Catalina Sandino Moreno, the film takes place in remote Chile, where a vacationing young woman begins to mentally unravel. This trailer certainly captures that, with Cera in particular using his upper crust charms to creepy effect.

In the film, “While vacationing with a friend in the spectacular Chilean lake district, young American traveler Alicia (Temple) begins seeing disturbing images visible only to her. Her best friend Sarah (Browning) suddenly returns to Santiago, leaving Alicia in an unfamiliar country surrounded by strangers (Cera and Sandino Moreno). More and more she unravels, seeing darker visions and hearing chilling noises that send her running into the woods. In this disturbing landscape, she experiences crushing terror and knows that she must escape. A destabilizing, psychological thriller recalling the best works in the genre, this film entices viewers into a world they won’t be able to forget.”

‘Riddick’ Will Bow To No Man In New Banner

David Twohy and Vin Diesel have reunited for Riddick, the third film in the Pitch Black franchise, and now there’s a new banner image that uses a previous release still as it’s centerpiece.

In theaters September 6, “Diesel reprises his role as the antihero Riddick, a dangerous, escaped convict wanted by every bounty hunter in the known galaxy. The infamous Riddick has been left for dead on a sun-scorched planet that appears to be lifeless. [E3 2013] PS4 Supports Used Games, Price Revealed

Sony has taken the fight straight to Microsoft’s jugular, and I think they may have won this upcoming console generation before it’s even officially begun. They just finished up their media briefing, but not before dropping multiple bombs on the Xbox One. First off, the PlayStation 4 will support used games. This means you can sell, trade in and loan every game in your library. The PS4 does not require an Internet connection and will never need to authenticate games. And lastly, we have the console’s price. That’ll be $399, or €399 and £349 for those across the pond.

That’s significantly less than the Xbox One, which will bring with it a price tag of $499 — along with the used game restrictions and required Internet connection, apparently those “features” are pricey ones. I don’t think I even need to ask, but what the hell! Which console are you getting?
