Revolting Clip From ‘No One Lives’ Is A Lot Of Fun

In select cities – NYC, LA, Chicago, San Francisco, Dallas, Philadelphia, Miami, Boston, Detroit, Houston & Baltimore – May 10th is Anchor Bay’s No One Lives, an insanely bloody slasher from Midnight Meat Train‘s Ryuhei Kitamura.

Mr. Disgusting wasn’t fan (read his review), but I sort of admired the film for it s sense of fun and its sheer brutality. This new clip is a pretty good example. If you kill a big guy like Brodus Clay, you can play TaunTaun with him!

A ruthless criminal gang takes a young couple hostage and goes to ground in an abandoned house in the middle of nowhere. When the captive girl is killed, the tables are unexpectedly turned. The gang finds themselves outsmarted by an urbane and seasoned killer determined to ensure that no one lives.

The film stars Luke Evans, Lee Tergesen, Adelaide Clemens, Laura Ramsey, Lindsey Shaw, America Olivo, Beau Knapp, Derek Magyar, and Brodus Clay. READ MORE

Delta Rae Featured In Season Six Trailer For ‘True Blood’

Folk rock band Delta Rae is being featured in the new trailer for season six of the HBO hit series True Blood. The song “Bottom Of The River” can be heard prominently and is being described “as a match made in vampire heaven”. The song comes from the band’s debut album Carry The Fire (iTunes).

Singer Brittany Holljes states, “We’ve been immense fans of True Blood since the pilot. The show captures southern myth and the magic of American folklore — the same mysterious storytelling that inspires so much of our music. To go from dressing up like the whole cast (Yes, I was Sookie) for Halloween three years ago, to hearing our song on the trailer is utterly MIND BLOWING.

You can watch the trailer as well as the official music video below. READ MORE

Adam Green Hosts Boston Events For Charity

Horror genre filmmaker, television star, and Massachusetts native, Adam Green will return to the Boston-area, from May 28 – 30, 2013, to host a series of events and raise money to help those families most affected by the tragic events that unfolded during the 2013 Boston Marathon. The events include an advanced screening of the second season of the sitcom “Holliston”, which premieres on FEARnet June 4, 2013, a celebrity benefit and silent auction at the Worcester Palladium, and the first-ever marathon screening of all three Hatchet films, including the first public screening of Hatchet III, opening in select U.S. theaters on June 14, 2013.

Born and raised in “Holliston”, MA, Adam got his start making local commercials for Time Warner Cable Advertising in 1997, where he borrowed company equipment to make his first feature film COFFEE & DONUTS. In 2000, he moved to Hollywood, CA and set out to turn the film into a television series. Over a decade later, it was re-developed and re-titled “Holliston”, and premiered on FEARnet in 2012, where it was immediately embraced by critics and audiences. Adam also made his mark on the horror genre with the 2006 slasher comedy Hatchet, which went on to become a bonafide fan-favorite worldwide franchise introducing the now iconic genre villain “Victor Crowley” to genre fans around the globe. Through ArieScope Pictures, Adam’s independent film studio, he has written, directed, and/or produced the theatrical feature films: Spiral, Frozen, Grace, and Chillerama.

I live in Los Angeles these days, but Boston is still the place I consider home,” says Green. “I’ve never forgotten where I came from and always infuse my work with Massachusetts references, whether it be showcasing the Newbury Comics logo in the Hatchet series, naming the fictitious ski mountain in Frozen ‘Mount “Holliston”’, or setting my sitcom “Holliston” in “Holliston”, MA. While I am just one guy, thankfully I have a body of work and a loyal and extremely passionate fan base within the horror community that I can call upon to step up and help. I think a lot of people underestimate not only the sense of community that genre fans share, but the fact that we are some of the most kind hearted and generous people you’ll ever meet. I know that the Boston chapters of the Hatchet Army and “Holliston” Nation will join me for this, not to mention my fans around the world that will hopefully donate to the cause online. However, the real heroes behind this are my friends at Rock and Shock and Wicked Bird Media who have worked tirelessly to make all of the arrangements, not to mention all of the various sponsors that are rising to the occasion to support all of this. I’m merely the face of an enormous heart and collective of individuals who want to help.

Details for the events include:

Tina’s led a sheltered life and there are things that Chris needs her to see – the Crich Tramway Museum, the Ribblehead Viaduct, the Keswick Pencil Museum and the rolling countryside that accompanies these wonders in his life.

Did Universal Just Shut Down ‘Jurassic Park’?!

Update: Universal released this statement.

Back in 1993 the gates never opened to the public, and it looks as if Jurassic Park could remain closed in 2013.

Eagle-eyed AICN caught a few damaging tweets Tuesday night that allege that production has been shut down on Universal’s Jurassic Park 4.

Just last week Director Colin Trevorrow shared a photo from his location scout with the tease “Nublar,” the island from Steven Spielberg’s first film. Today, JP4 Concept Artist Dean Sherriff tweeted and immediately deleted, “JP on hold.

It gets worse as JP4‘s Digital Assets Manager Todd Smoyer chimed in, “Hollywood makes and crushes dreams. Goodbye JP4.

Uni has already slated the fourth film for release on June 13, 2014. Hopefully, the studio realized that there’s no way they could have it completed by then and decided to slow it down a bit. I was immediately concerned then they hired Trevorrow, an indie director who is known for Safety Not Guaranteed . With that said, I’ve been wrong before (see Godzilla).

I’m sure with this news spreading throughout the night, we’ll have some sort of official word by lunchtime tomorrow. READ MORE

Trailer For Edgar Wright’s ‘The World’s End’ Brings On The Booze (And Aliens)

The teaser trailer just hit for The World’s End, Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz director Edgar Wright’s new movie that stars Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Rosamund Pike, Martin Freeman, Paddy Considine and Eddie Marsan. While this definitely feels more like a teaser than a full trailer – it still introduces a host of crazy sh*t like humanoid blue-eyed aliens along with some giant insect looking guys. Getting a strong Stephen King meets John Carpenter vibe from this one. I also dig that the fence gag is back! This film will complete Wright and Pegg’s Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy.

In theaters August 23 2013, “20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hell bent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King, a 40-year old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their home town and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub, The World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.READ MORE
