Dark Horizons writes, “Filming on The Ring 2 returned to Seattle for one day of shooting before moving onto Astoria, Oregon and ‘Wes’ was on hand at that ultra-short shoot to take some snaps: “I was tipped that filming was going on at 4th & Cherry Downtown Seattle and stopped in for some shots. Was around for about an hour and was able to catch some action. Today’s filming seems centered around the blonde woman. The Korean 'Ring Virus' Coming to DVD

KFC Cinema reports that Asian video company Tai Seng has announced that it will release the DVD of THE RING VIRUS to the U.S. market, with a street date of August 16. This 1999 Korean adaptation of the Koji Suzuki novel RINGU and the subsequent Japanese film by Hideo Nakata was written and directed by Kim Dong-Bin and casts Shin Eun-Kyung as Sun-Ju, a journalist investigating the mysterious death of her cousin who comes across the deadly videotape that kills anyone who watches it within seven days. Tai Seng?s disc will present the movie letterboxed with Dolby Digital 5.1 sound, in both Korean and Mandarin languages with removable English and Chinese subtitles.

This Game to Film is Far From 'Doomed'

Another one saved from the dreaded Uwe Boll experiment. Doom, despite its title, is a project that refuses to die, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Despite having had several homes — at Columbia Pictures and Warner Bros. Pictures — the video game has landed at Universal Studios, which has optioned the feature film rights from the game’s maker, Id Software. The game’s last home was Warners, where it was under a progress-to-production stipulation wherein the project had to shoot before a certain time or else the rights reverted back to Id Software. Enda McCallion is still attached to direct, and John Wells and Lorenzo di Bonaventura are producing.

Captain Howdy reports, “Greg Mielcarz, Worldwide Publicity with Morgan Creek, has stated on our Exorcist Fan Forums that cinemas will be receiving Exorcist: The Beginning trailers to start running soon – some as early as next week. Expect an internet trailer to surface before you know it! Contrary to some whispers, the release date will not be moved from August 20 – this date is set in stone (err… this time). Composer Trevor Rabin started work on the prequel some time ago and is close to completion.”
