City Of The Living Dead (Paura nella città dei mor

cityold City Of The Living Dead (Paura nella città dei morFulci?s finest, yep better than THE BEYOND. I am of course referring to CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD (or whatever it may be called in your country).

This is extremely atmospheric shit folks, really creepy, I watched it again the other night alone, freaks me out, esp. the zombie chick looking at the kid through the window.

In the small town of Dunwich, a priest commits suicide by hanging himself in the church cemetery, which somehow opens the gates of hell, allowing the dead to rise. Peter, a New York City reporter, teams up with a young psychic named Mary to travel to the town where they team up with another couple to find a way to close the gates before All Saints Day or the dead all over the world will rise up and kill the living.

Outrageous gore is a highlight of this Italian splat fest, and who can forget the drill through the head, a scene in which Fulci was trying to out do himself from his ZOMBIE splinter eye perhaps? For sheer gross out factor, who cant help but be moved by the chick who is forced to spew up her guts – the sounds which accompany this show stopper are gore – rate!

It really gets creepy when the night scenes are going on – the utter feeling of doom and helplessness are overpowering, and genuinely scary. I guess the end is a bit of a let down, but hey, you can?t have everything can you? Check out this superb Fulci flick again, now!
