[Album Review] Guano Padano ’2′

Straying a bit out of the normal Bloody-Disgusting fare, I sat down with Guano Padano’s latest album, 2, this weekend. I was seduced into checking it out when I learned that Mike Patton (Faith No More, Mr. Bungle) did a guest appearance on one of the songs. If Mike Patton decided that this album was good enough to do some vocal work on, you better believe that I’m very intrigued and want to check it out. READ MORE

‘Contagion’ Writer Scott Burns Tackling Sequel To ‘Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes’

ROTPOTA2 Header 51512 Contagion Writer Scott Burns Tackling Sequel To Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes

Scott Z. Burns (Contagion, The Informant) is set to start monkeying around with the script for Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes 2 any day now. An initial draft was written by the writers of last year’s film, Amanda Silver and Rick Jaffa. I actually think this is a great choice. Burns is a great writer who not only knows his diseases (something pointed out in the THR article), but can juggle multiple and complex storylines.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, “Scott Z. Burns has been tapped to work on Fox’s sequel to Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Chernin Entertainment is producing.

The new film, “continues the story set forth in last year’s critical and commercial hit movie featuring simians that are given human intelligence and subsequently break out of their facility. At the same time, a virus breaks out that causes the collapse of human society. The new project is taking the story to the next level, with the apes on the path to emerge as society’s new rulers.

Director Rupert Wyatt and mo-cap superstar Andy Serkis were previously announced to return.

Call Of Duty: Black Ops II Is Officially Revealed, This Trailer Takes Us To The Future

Well I have to say though we knew Black Ops II was being announced today officially, I didn’t think they were going to travel to the future with it. Though 2025 isn’t that far into the future, it’s still quite a change from most Call Of Duty games. I’m not the biggest fan of the franchise by any means, but Treyarch’s zombies mode will always make me more excited for their games than Infinity Wards. So here’s to hoping Black Ops II’s zombie mode kicks ass. Official reveal trailer past the break, and the game will be out November 13th on the PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360.

Review: B.P.R.D. Hell on Earth: The Long Death #2

As far as the comic realm goes I am relatively new to Hellboy let alone the BPRD books affiliated with the big red bastard. I’ve always been a huge fan of the del Toro films, but I just never got around to reading the source material. When I picked up Dark Horse’s newest BPRD series, BPRD Hell on Earth: The Long Death, I was devastated by the fact that I am so far behind the times! Why wasn’t I reading more of this earlier! Blood and gore galore (see what I did there?), a big mean cat-creature from hell, and the spectral wonder Johann Kraus; where could you go wrong? I think I’ve found my new obsession.
