Things are decelerating in Dark Horse Comics’ Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Willow – Wonderland #3, as Jeff Parker and Christos Gage reach the half-way point of the series. The quick-paced narrative that plowed through the last two slows down in this installment, as our protagonist must come to terms with the fact that her ultimate quest to restore Earth’s magic is failing. With a newly encountered society of witches pulling her one way, and her companion Marrak, another, this issue presents Willow with a multitude of choices regarding her future, both in this mystical realm, and on Earth. Coheed And Cambria have announced that their upcoming sixth studio record, The Afterman, will be a double concept album and will be released in two separate volumes. The first volume, The Afterman: Ascension, will be out Oct. 9th. The second volume, The Afterman: Descension, will be released at an undetermined date in February 2013. The band has released an album teaser video, which you can watch below. The teaser looks like a mix between Alien and 2001: A Space Odyssey, so sci-fi fans take heed.
A deluxe version of the ‘The Afterman’ will include a hardcover coffee-table book with expansive art by Heidi Taillefer and Nathan Spoor with collaborative written work from singer/creator Claudio Sanchez and writer Peter David that will create a song by song experience. David previously worked with Sanchez on the prose novel adaptation of the band’s 2010 album “Year of the Black Rainbow,” and the graphic novel adaptation of their 2003 album “In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3“.
The Afterman takes place in the running concept story The Amory Wars. Each title from the band falls into this epic sci-fi arc. It was recently announced that Mark Wahlberg and Stephen Levinson of Leverage Productions will be developing the story into a live-action feature film.
Coheed and Cambria are currently touring with Iron Maiden and will be hitting the road for a headline run beginning in mid-September. All tour dates are below. READ MORE

I first saw 3 several years ago opening up for Porcupine Tree. Immediately hooked, I saw them again on the Progressive Nation tour with Dream Theater, Opeth, and Between The Buried And Me. Their album The End Is Begun is still a favorite of mine and one that I highly recommend to people who are interested in getting into some heavy prog.
Josh Eppard (ex-3, ex-Coheed and Cambria, Terrible Things) is about to release the second album under his solo moniker Weerd Science, ‘Sick Kids‘, on May 17th. In anticipation of this release, Josh is giving away a 4-track EP via bandcamp. This EP is some creepy hip-hop, so check it out to get some music crawling under your skin.
