Van Halen’s New Music Video For ‘She’s The Woman’ Is Awful

Van Halen has released a video for She’s The Woman and, wow, it sucks. I don’t know who they’ve been getting to storyboard and direct these videos, but that person needs to be fired immediately. Watching David Lee Roth forget which lines to lip-sync to or putting the wrong drum section during a passage is somewhat unbearable. Seriously, when you watch the video (if you choose to do so, of course), you can see that the drums don’t match up at certain points. You’ll hear the snare but you won’t see the snare hit until a beat or two later. Ugh…. If you want to watch the amateur hour, it’s below.

[Review] Van Halen ‘A Different Kind Of Truth’

[Review] Van Halen A Different Kind Of Truth

In 1984, after releasing and touring in support of their album “1984” (review), the biggest hard rock band of all time, Van Halen, parted ways with lead singer David Lee Roth. Only two years later, they hired a new frontman named Sammy Hagar. The general consensus is that it was a pretty bad move, and ended up causing the band to sound like the one thing that you could NEVER call them during the David Lee Roth era, bland. Flash forward to 1998. Having now parted ways with Hagar, the band hired and recorded an album with their third lead singer, Gary Cherone. This proved to be a devastating move for the band, as the album received negative reviews from fans and critics alike, as well as poor album and ticket sales. Now flash forward to present day. It is 2012, and after 28 years of drama and bad decisions, the original Van Halen lineup (sans bassist Michael Anthony), has released a new studio album, “A Different Kind Of Truth“. Now the only question left is, has it been worth the wait? READ MORE

Van Halen Release New Single ‘Tattoo’: It Kinda Sucks

Van Halen Release New Single Tattoo: It Kinda Sucks
Van Halen have released Tattoo, the first single from their upcoming album A Different Kind Of Truth, which comes out Feb. 7th. You can check out the official video below. Problem is, the song kinda sucks. No, scratch that. It really sucks. Even if you took out the poorly synced video, the fact that it looks like David Lee Roth keeps forgetting his lines, and the “we’re gonna shoot in black and white for the sake of looking artistic even though NOTHING ARTISTIC IS HAPPENING” look, the song is just plain boring. There is no spice or pizazz. There is no excitement. It’s just a generic rock song that is destined to go in one ear and out the other. Honestly, even though I listened to it just a few minutes ago, I’ve already forgotten the melodies.
Check it out below and, if for some reason you still feel so inclined, you can preorder the album on iTunes.
