Album Artist Aaron Crawford Paints Homage To Chucky

Album artist and Bloody-Disgusting favorite Aaron Crawford has released a limited 50 edition run 13×16 print entitled “Chucky Cheesin’” that pays homage to one of the most iconic movie villains of all time: Chucky! You can check out images of the print below.

Crawford explains his inspiration, “Growing up, and just getting HBO at home and being exposed to countless horror movies for the first time was pretty awesome, but scary. I used to stay up late to see which movies would come on after dark. One night, a movie came on called “Child’s Play” and it scared the shit out of me. I was a kid, and I had a doll VERY similar to the CHUCKY doll, so once I made it all the way through the movie, I told my mom to get rid of it, or hide it, because I was afraid it was going to wake up after I fell asleep, and try to do some sort of incantation ritual on me or something. I’ve since grown up and no longer have dolls. Or a fear of them coming to life to murder me.”

The print can be ordered here. You can also read our exclusive interview with Crawford here. READ MORE

Lloyd Kaufman Painted As A Citizen Of Tromaville!

Remember a few days I posted a story about album artist Aaron Crawford painting his version of Toxie from The Toxic Avenger? Well, it turns out that Troma founder Lloyd Kaufman was so impressed and taken with Crawford’s version that Lloyd asked him to do the same thing to him! Well, Aaron put together such an awesome painting that Kaufman made it his official twitter picture. Talk about an honor!

Here’s a quote from Aaron: ”After the silly painting I did of Melvin, I was asked by TROMA founder, and creator of The Toxic Avenger himself, Lloyd Kaufman, to create a monster version of him to hang in their office! So, I did! Meet, CITIZEN LLOYD! I am fanning out a little bit, since Lloyd has been behind some of the funniest, most brutal horror movies of modern time. Poultrygeist, Luther The Geek, etc. Truly an honor.”
Check after the jump to see Lloyd Kaufman looking suspiciously like me first thing in the morning.

Album Artist Aaron Crawford Paints The Toxic Avenger

Album artist Aaron Crawford is one of those guys who paints stuff you either love or hate. Personally, I’m a huge fan of his twisted art styles that seem to capture the most deformed, disgusting, vile, putrid abominations this side of Midian.
Well, the man is back with a painting of Toxie, the always lovable hero from The Toxic Avenger series! Not only is it a great painting of the iconic mutant, but Troma master Lloyd Kaufman himself gave it two thumbs up!
Aaron Crawford: “The Toxic Avenger is one of my favorite Troma movies. It’s considered a classic, and the perfect story of the nerd who’s bullied turned vigilante superhero monster murderer, mangling everything in his path!
Melvin, (who later becomes Toxie) was dancing around in a pink polka dotted suit with his mop RIGHT BEFORE he fell into the toxic sludge.
This is my tribute painting to that scene. MELVIN!”
Check out the painting after the jump and make sure to pick up your very own copy of his mini-book, In Through The Mouth, available here.

Super Bloody Music Video: Health ‘We Are Water’

So, I recently got into the art of Aaron Crawford and, while checking out his website, I stumbled across a music video for Health ‘We Are Water’. This video was directed by Eric Wareheim of ‘Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job’ fame. To say that it is bloody doesn’t really come close to it. It’s a great spoof of the ‘terrified woman running in the woods from a machete-wielding psychopath’. Also, men be warned, your nether region will recoil in horror.

Enjoy the video and let me know what you think in the comments!
