Pan

The story’s a backward take on J.M. Barrie’s “Peter Pan” with supernatural elements in which the Pan character’s a villain tracked by police captain named Hook.

The film puts a dark spin on J.M. Barrie’s “Peter Pan,” with Captain Hook as a haunted former police detective in pursuit of a childlike kidnapper.

Here’s a Motion Poster That Proves ‘I, Frankentein’ Is Coming

I was starting to think Lionsgate’s I, Frankenstein wasn’t a real film.

With no images released yet, the studio has unveiled a teaser poster for the comic adaptation that stars Aaron Eckhart, Bill Nighy, Socratis Otto, Yvonne Strahovski and Miranda Otto. It looks like Underworld, which is ironic being that it comes from writer Kevin Grevioux.

In theaters January 24, 2014 from director Stuart Beattie, “I, Frankenstein is a modern-day epic: Frankenstein’s creature, Adam, has survived to present day due to a genetic quirk in his creation. ‘I, Frankenstein’ Bumped To Next Year

Lionsgate’s 3D post-conversion of Stuart Beattie’s I, Frankenstein might be taking longer than expected. Either that or they need a spring film. Or… they might not like it. Who knows? In all fairness, January isn’t the dumping ground it used to be. Either way the film has moved from September 13th to January 24th, 2014.

In the film, “is a modern-day epic: Frankenstein’s creature, Adam, has survived to present day due to a genetic quirk in his creation. Making his way to a dark, gothic metropolis, he finds himself caught in an all-out, centuries old war between two immortal clans.

Because You Asked For It: Lionsgate’s ‘I, Frankenstein’ Getting 3-D Release!!!!!!!

Breaking news folks, Lionsgate is post-converting Stuart Beattie’s I, Frankenstein for a 3-D release on September 13. I had thought the gimmicky post-converted 3-D release platform had died, but apparently it’s “still an option.”

Rob Friedman, co-chairman of Lionsgate’s Motion Picture Group, confirmed the conversion to 3D during an analyst call Tuesday following the release of the indie studio’s third quarter results, stated the Hollywood Reporter.

We’re selective. We do it where we think it’s appropriate for the creative, as well as for the consumer enjoyment,” Friedman told press. Because, obviously, I, Frankenstein is going to be way more enjoyable looking like a pop-up book.

Aaron Eckhart plays Adam Frankenstein in the film based on the graphic novel by Kevin Grevioux, co-creator of Underworld. Bill Nighy, Socratis Otto, Yvonne Strahovski and Miranda Otto also star.

Lionsgate Shifts ‘I, Frankenstein’ Tale To September 2013

EckhartFrankHeader41612 Lionsgate Shifts I, Frankenstein Tale To September 2013

Lionsgate is moving the Stuart Beattie-directed I, Frankenstein from February to a September 13, 2013 date.

Penned by Kevin Grevioux, and starring Aaron Eckhart, Bill Nighy, Socratis Otto, Yvonne Strahovski, Miranda Otto, the pic is an adaptation of a Darkstorm Comic written by Grevioux that brings together classic monster characters, including Frankenstein’s Monster, the Invisible Man, Dracula and the Hunchback of Notre Dame, in a contemporary film noir setting. The Monster, for example, has evolved, learned how to control his anger and now acts as a private investigator. Dracula, meanwhile, is a kingpin of crime, and the Invisible Man is a secret operative.

Information has been slim on this guy, but we’ll keep you updated as news comes in. READ MORE

Meet ‘I, Frankenstein’s’ Gargoyle Queen

Chuck star Yvonne Strahovski, who also toplined the horrid The Canyon, is in final negotiations to join I, Frankenstein, the action monster movie starring Aaron Eckhart, writes Heat Vision. Miranda Otto, best known for playing Eowyn in The Lord of the Rings movies, also is on board.

Stuart Beattie is directing the Lakeshore/Lionsgate movie, which follows Frankenstein’s monster (Eckhart) vacillating between humanity and monsterdom while being pursued by demons wanting to gain the secret of his reanimated corpse.

Strahovski will play the female lead, a scientist working on reanimating the dead and tricked into working for demons seeking to create an army of the undead.

Otto is playing the queen of the gargoyles who wants to help Frankenstein.

Bill Nighy is already in negotiations to play the leader of the demons while Socratis Otto (no relation to Miranda) is his right hand man.

The movie, based on a comic by Kevin Grevioux, is due to shoot this winter in Australia.

Australian actress Otto also starred in the pilot for “Locke & Key”, which adapted the Joe Hill comic book. READ MORE

The “Real” Battle of Los Angeles, Experts Reflect on Anniversary of “Sighting”

In anticipation of the March 11th release of Columbia Pictures’ Battle: Los Angeles, a film about the efforts of a team of military personnel to thwart an alien invasion in the City of Angels, the studio recently staged a press conference with a group of “UFO experts” to talk about both the real Battle of Los Angeles – an intriguing, little-known event that took place in the skies above Santa Monica on February 24th and 25th, 1942 (can you say “anniversary“?) – as well as their own anecdotal experiences with UFO phenomena. See inside for the full story, as related by B-D reporter Chris Eggertsen.

New ‘Battle: Los Angeles’ Channels ‘Gears of War’ for Inspiration

March 11th can’t get here soon enough. Previously, Columbia Pictures has released two awesome trailers for Jonathan Liebesman’s Battle: Los Angeles, and we’ve seen even more extraordinary “real life” images from which the movie is based on — but what we’ve yet to see are some truly off-the-charts awesome images. This morning Empire scored a look at two new stills that look straight out of the “Gears of War” video game. Awesome is an understatement. In addition, inside you’ll find a new international poster that continues the theme of the alien “arrival”, courtesy of IMP Awards.

With any alien invasion movie the one question that always stands tall is “what do the creatures look like?” I was kinda hoping to keep my eyes E.T. virgins until March 11 when Columbia Pictures releases Jonathan Liebesman’s Battle: Los Angeles — so much for that.

I can only wonder if these are just some of the “smaller” aliens… what else does Liebesman have up his sleeve?

And seriously, how cool is it that this is kinda based on true events?

‘Battle: Los Angeles’ Based on True Story?!

My friends and myself have been having fun in the world of conspiracy theories, and this afternoon my buddy Travis sent me this link that details the conspiracy of the 1942 “Battle of Los Angeles”. Doing a little Google search I came across an official Wiki page for the event that writes: “The Battle of Los Angeles, also known as “The Great Los Angeles Air Raid,” is the name given by contemporary sources to the rumored enemy attack and subsequent anti-aircraft artillery barrage which took place from late February 24 to early February 25, 1942 over Los Angeles, California. The incident occurred less than three months after the United States entered World War II as a result of the Japanese Imperial Navy’s attack on Pearl Harbor.” All of the sources display the following newspaper image from the LA Times that is also used on Columbia Pictures’ teaser posters that were posted around this past July’s San Diego Comic Con. So, is Jonathan Liebesman’s Battle: Los Angeles, which arrives in theaters March 11, actually based on a true story? Do some digging – and you tell me.
