Endangered

In the action thriller Endangered, a deputy whose mission is protecting the threatened grizzly bear suddenly finds himself conflicted when a massive rogue grizzly wreaks havoc on a local Alaskan community. Enlisting the help of his estranged brother, he enters the labyrinthian Grizzly Maze to track down his wife who’s gone missing before the bear does. As the body count mounts, and an infamous bear hunter enters the fray determined to take down the bear he’s been waiting for his whole life, no one is safe in the harsh Alaskan wilds.

Open Road’s Grizzly Terror ‘Red Machine’ Renamed To ‘Endangered’

Open Road has acquired Saw V director David Hackl’s Red Machine and will release it as Endangered later this year.

Here’s the official plot being used for test screening audiences: “In the action thriller Endangered, a deputy whose mission is protecting the threatened grizzly bear suddenly finds himself conflicted when a massive rogue grizzly wreaks havoc on a local Alaskan community.

Thomas Jane To Direct And Star In ‘Wet House’!

I’m eagerly awaiting Red Machine, a grizzly bear movie directed by Saw V‘s David Hackl and starring James Marsden, Billy Bob Thornton, Thomas Jane, Piper Perabo, Scott Glenn, Adam Beach, Michaela McManus and Kelly Curran. But in the meantime we can exclusively report that its screenwriter Jack Reher is reteaming with its star Thomas Jane for the upcoming Wet House, a horror film that Jane will direct as well as star in.

Reher explains what a “Wet House” is, “These places are popping up all over the United States. Kind of creepy. People go there by their own admission when they give up on life and their addictions. By means of drinking or drugs, late-stage users go to a Wet House when all hope is lost. Then they die…” Having known a few addicts and alcoholics, this seems pretty disturbing.

The film is “an elevated genre supernatural thriller and is loosely based on Charles Dickens’ classic ghost story “The Signal-Man.” A doctor treats a patient that checks in there after a horrific car accident and meets another resident that predicts tragic things that haven’t happened yet.. Slowly the doctor loses grip on his sanity in the Wet House and becomes haunted by something sinister.

Tonally the film will resemble a mixture of Jacob’s Ladder, Poltergeist, and Secret Window. As far as Red Machine goes, we’re hearing it’s going to be hitting sometime this summer.

Billy Bob Thornton Details Grizzly Bear Horror ‘Red Machine’

Star Billy Bob Thornton hit his official blog to share his own personal description of Red Machine, a grizzly bear movie directed by Saw V‘s David Hackl, and co-starring James Marsden, Thomas Jane, Piper Perabo, Scott Glenn, Adam Beach, Michaela McManus and Kelly Curran.

James Marsden (X-Men, Enchanted) and Thomas Jane (“Hung”, yes, and so good in The Mist) are a pair of estranged brothers who enter the wilderness. Marsden, fresh out of jail, is the ne’er-do-well who has come home to settle somed unfinished business. Jane is the town sheriff who helps his fiancée track the local fauna. Their outing in the great white north takes off, but goes horribly south when they are attacked, then relentlessly pursued by a monstrous and seriously territorial grizzly bear. This is clearly not Yogi Bear or Gentle Ben territory because this particular specimen of Ursus arctos horribilis goes by the nickname Red Machine.

Billy Bob plays Douglass, an Alaskan bear tracker whom James Marsden describes as much like Robert Shaw’s Quint character in Jaws. Douglass ain’t quite right in the head, but he knows that bears do more than you-know-what in the woods. The cast includes Adam Beach (Cowboys and Aliens), Scott Glenn (“You spook easily, Starling?”), Kelly Curran (“How I Met Your Mother”), and Michaela McManus (“The Vampire Diaries”). Piper Perabo (The Prestige) plays Thomas Jane’s fiancée, a wilderness-savvy photographer whose ability to survive the escalating danger may be hampered by the fact that she is deaf.

The funniest portion is when he explains his role:”Ride a horse, hunt a bear, mysterious appear and disappear in the woods.Red Machine is now in post. READ MORE

First Look At Survival Horror ‘Red Machine’

Penned by Jack Reher, and directed by Saw V‘s David Hackl, comes the survival horror Red Machine, which stars James Marsden, Thomas Jane, Billy Bob Thornton, Piper Perabo, Scott Glenn, Adam Beach, Michaela McManus and Kelly Curran.

Featured in a Canadian DGA magazine, we’ve landed a first look at the horror film that’s currently in post-production.

The pic centers around two estranged brothers (Marsden, Jane) who reconcile on a camping trip with their girlfriends. Once in the remote wilderness, however, things go horribly awry when they are attacked and relentlessly stalked by a horrifying grizzly bear — the Red Machine.
