Born Of Osiris About To Hit The Road: Announce Plans For New Album

Starting on Thursday, Born Of Osiris will be hitting the road with Unearth for the month of November. Support will also come from The Contortionist, Obey The Brave, and Wolves At The Gate. Then, in February, the band will be touring Europe with After The Burial, Monuments, and The Haarp Machine.

However, the band is not only content hitting the road. They’ve also announced that they are close to completing the songwriting process for their follow-up to The Discovery and will enter the studio in the spring with Nick Sampson (I Am Abomination) to track the new effort.

Lee McKinney (guitars) states: “I would say the direction of this album is along the lines of The Discovery, but definitely a lot heavier and a lot more focused when it comes to song structure. We’re trying to give each song a powerful, thematic feel. This next record takes all of the best aspects of The Discovery and develops the ideas even further. We already have so much material that we plan on revising and refining over the next few months. While we do that we will still continue to write more and in the end I think we’ll pick the strongest 10-12 songs so we can drop the best BORN OF OSIRIS record to date.

After The Burial’s New Video Was Shot At A Catholic Girls School

After The Burial wanted to push some boundaries when the idea for filming a video for Pendulum came up. So what better way to do that than by filming it at an all-girls Catholic school? Kudos to you gentlemen for the brilliant idea. My eyes appreciated the outfits and my second brain took over for a few minutes. Not that a few minutes is my average time, haha. Oh no, it’s usually a few seconds!

As I Lay Dying Release ‘Anodyne Sea’ Music Video

As I Lay Dying have released a video for ‘Anodyne Sea’ off their latest album, ‘The Powerless Rise’ exclusively on CraveOnline.com. Apparently, a new form of video technology was created specifically for this video in which a Nikon D7000 HD-SLR camera and a Teradek Cube were attached to a helmet to create the “first-person” illusion. Funny, haven’t I seen that before in Smack My Bitch Up (careful, that link is NSFW)?
As I Lay Dying will be hitting the road in February with Winds of Plague and After The Burial. Check out the tour dates after the jump.

Album Review: After The Burial ‘In Dreams’

It seems lately that the big craze now is 7 or 8 string guitars: The lower the tuning, the more brutal the music. At least, that’s what bands think. More often than not, poor tones and generic songwriting plague what could otherwise be an interesting use of extended range instruments. After The Burial (interview here) tout their dual wielding 8 string guitarists as a huge part of their appeal. So does it help them or hinder them on their latest endeavor, ‘In Dreams’? Check out after the jump.
