Banner Introduces Cast Of ‘Beautiful Creatures’

Warner Bros. is getting romantic next Valentine’s Day weekend as they’ll release Beautiful Creatures in theaters February 13. Check out a newly released character banner.

A supernatural love story set in the South, “Beautiful Creatures” tells the tale of two star-crossed lovers: Ethan (Alden Ehrenreich), a young man longing to escape his small town, and Lena (Alice Englert), a mysterious new girl. Together, they uncover dark secrets about their respective families, their history and their town.

Oscar nominee Richard LaGravenese (“The Fisher King,”"P.S. I Love You”) directs from his adaptation of the first novel in the best-selling series by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl. ‘Stoker’ Pencil Poster and Making-Of Video!

Fox Searchlight recently locked down a March 1, 2013 release for Park Chan-wook’s english-language debut, Stoker, his vampire tale penned by Ted Foulke (aka Wentworth Miller). Empire has premiered a really cool pencil-work poster and an accompanying video, which shows the creation of the one-sheet. That music is “Becomes The Color” by Emily Wells, which plays over the end credits and is now available in iTunes and all good digital retailers worldwide.

Miller also stars alongside Mia Wasikowska, Nicole Kidman, Matthew Goode, Jacki Weaver, Lucas Till, Alden Ehrenreich, Phyllis Somerville and Dermot Mulroney.

After India’s (Wasikowska’s) father dies in an auto accident, her Uncle Charlie (Goode), who she never knew existed, comes to live with her and her emotionally unstable mother (Kidman). Soon after his arrival, she comes to suspect this mysterious, charming man has ulterior motives, but instead of feeling outrage or horror, this friendless girl becomes increasingly infatuated with him.

First Look At Emmy Rossum In Warner Bros.’ ‘Beautiful Creatures’ Adaptation

Courtesy of EW comes the first official still from Warner Bros.’ upcoming adaptation of Beautiful Creatures featuring Emmy Rossum (“Shameless”) as the supernaturally manipulative cousin Ridley.

Alden Ehrenreich and Alice Englert star as Ethan and Lena, teenage lovers who uncover dark secrets about their families, their history and their town. Margo Martindale plays Lena’s Aunt Del, who helps to protect her from the family’s dark side.

Zoey Deutch portrays Emily Asher, Ethan’s ex-girlfriend and the ringleader of the high school’s popular clique that conspires against Lena. The film co-stars Jeremy Irons, Viola Davis, Emma Thompson, Emmy Rossum, Kyle Gallner, and Project X star Thomas Mann.

‘Beautiful Creatures’ Recasts Male Lead, ‘Stoker’ Star Uncovers Dark Secrets

In some ultra brief news, Alden Ehrenreich (Stoker) has replaced Jack O’Connell as the male lead in supernatural love story Beautiful Creatures due to scheduling conflicts for O’Connell, reports Variety.

Alcon Entertainment made the announcement Wednesday. Filming will begin later this month in and around New Orleans.

Ehrenreich and Alice Englert will portray star-crossed teenage lovers, a local boy and a mysterious new girl who uncover dark secrets about their families, their history and their town.

Project’s based on Kami Garcia’s novel of the same name as the first in a three-book series published by Little Brown Books that also includes “Beautiful Darkness” and “Beautiful Chaos.” Alcon is looking at “Creatures” to kick off a possible franchise at Warner Bros., where Alcon has its output deal.

Ehrenreich will join Viola Davis, Emma Thompson, Jeremy Irons, Emmy Rossum, Thomas Mann, Zoey Deutch, Margo Martindale and Rachel Brosnahan, with Richard LaGravenese directing from his adaptation. READ MORE
