George A. Romero, Simon Pegg First To Be Part Of ‘Doc of the Dead’

Exhibit A Pictures, the outfit behind new doc The Life And Times Of Paul The Psychic Octopus (a world premiere at the Edinburgh International Film Festival today), is now stretching its tentacles into zombie land, reports Screen Daily.

Director Alexandre O Philippe has revealed that he is already at work on Doc Of The Dead, a thoroughgoing new film that will explore zombies on screen in all their manifestations. Shooting is currently underway. Philippe has already spoken to Shaun of the Dead‘s Simon Pegg for the film and is shortly to interview zombie guru George Romero (Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead, etc.) on camera.

While there have been docs in the past, the zombie genre is still deserving of a “definitive” look at the undead. Hopefully he treks all the way back to Ed Wood’s Plan 9 From Outer Space .

Gregorian Meets Metal In ‘The Dark Side Of The Chant’

Gregorian Meets Metal In The Dark Side Of The Chant
I love me some metal. But what you might not know about me is that I also love kicking back to classical and chant every once in a while. So when I hear that the two are mixing, I get a little antsy in my pantsy, know what I mean? Such is the case with Gregorian, who are releasing The Dark Side Of The Chant, an album tomorrow that has them covering bands such as Evanescence, AC/DC, Unheilig, and more. Their cover of Hell’s Bells didn’t really do much for me but I’m really interested to hear Madonna‘s Frozen and Depeche Mode‘s Stripped
Check out a video after the jump that features sound clips and interviews with several of the members.
