Alice Eve On Poetry, Society And Coffins In ‘The Raven’

As Emily Hamilton in The Raven, Alice Eve plays the love interest of John Cusack’s Edgar Allen Poe. And it’s a more complicated role than that sounds. She’s simultaneously at odds with her protective father (as played by Brendan Gleeson) and the demands of 19th Century Baltimore society while trying to tame her lover’s demons and addictions. She also has to spend a solid chunk of the film trapped inside a coffin, which provides for some fairly intense scenes.

I sat down with Eve a few weeks ago to discuss the demands of her role, what it’s like interplaying between Gleeson and Cusack, and just how many days she had to spend in that coffin.

Bloody Disgusting is exclusively debuting the first of these murderous visions, “A Tell Tale Heart”, which features a very terrified Alice Eve who has been buried alive. Starring John Cusack as Poe, the movie is a deadly game of cat and mouse, which also stars Luke Evans, Brendan Gleeson and Oliver Jackson-Cohen.

Limited Theaters April 6: Centers on three co-workers who — on a routine stop at an ATM — unexpectedly end up in a desperate fight for their lives.

The plot follows three co-workers who stop off at an ATM on the way home from a Christmas party. From there, the rest of the story is set primarily in the ATM vestibule, and never leaves the supermarket parking lot. Seems that they’re trapped by a menacing man in a hooded parka, with no way of escape.

Horrific Game of Cat and Mouse in Awesome Trailer for The Raven

As promised, inside you’ll now find the trailer premiere for Relativity Media’s The Raven, which arrives in theaters March 9, 2012. James McTeigue’s (V for Vendetta) thriller is set in the last days of Edgar Allan Poe’s life, when he gets wrapped up in a serial killer investigation. The trailer, featuring a game of cat and mouse between an unknown killer and Poe, can best be described as From Hell meets Sherlock Holmes – it’s kinda dope.

With production now wrapped out of Serbia, Relativity Media has acquired distribution rights to Intrepid Pictures’ The Raven, the Edgar Allan Poe tale getting pretty hefty hype here on BD.
