Just as Warner Brothers/Grasshopper Manufacture did to find Juliet Starling for Lollipop Chainsaw, Spicy Horse will be doing to find their real life Alice. Spicy Horse is in the works of getting a Kickstarter campaign going to for Alice: Otherlands. A spiritual successor to the American McGee’s Alice series. The winner will be involved with the filming of the Kickstarter pitch video which will be filmed in Shanghai China. Head past the break to find out how to enter!
When I was in high school, I remember cutting out during lunch, hopping into my car, and driving to the local shopping mall to pick up my copy of American McGee’s Alice the day it came out. I already could tell that I would love the game simply on the visuals and my love of the books. But what I would never have guessed is how much I would fall in love with the soundtrack, which was composed by Chris Vrenna (of Nine Inch Nails and Marilyn Manson fame). Full of rich, haunting cues that perfectly used the themes of the game, story, and level design, it’s one of those rare albums whose music never seems to leave the mind, always lurking in the dark recesses, the melodies creeping forth when you least expect it.
And so, when I was given the chance to speak with Chris Vrenna, I couldn’t help but ask him about his work on Alice. Read on below for the full interview as we revisit Wonderland!
In the coming weeks, I’d like to do a video series to help shine the spotlight on some lesser-known games. To get things started, I thought it would fun to take a look at a game that I’m amazed even exists. Last June, eleven years after the release of American McGee’s Alice, EA released a sequel, Alice: Madness Returns. Recently, I picked the game up on sale and was pleasantly surprised at what I found. Check out the video below to see why it may be worth your time.
Platforms: Xbox 360, PS3, PC. Price: $39.99 (consoles), $29.99 (PC). If you have a game you’d like me to check out, or just some feedback, tell me! email@example.com READ MORE
It’s been eleven years since we first took the plunge down the rabbit hole, but today the hugely anticipated, and long awaited, follow up to American McGee’s Alice has come at last. The first was a hit for its adult storytelling and beautiful art style, and it’s obvious Madness Returns has a very high bar to live up to.
It’s already a well known fact that Wonderland looks like it was created by someone who was tripping off mushrooms or acid. Well the launch trailer below shows no different. In just 4 short days you’ll be able to guide Alice through the madness on the PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360.
We recently got to see some screens of Alice from Alice: Madness Returns in Hysteria looking creepy as hell. Well now we get to see her kicking ass all over Wonderland in the video below. Also if you pay attention you get to see her enter Hysteria for a short period of time.

Alice is small. Looking at her you’d think, “Yeah, I could take her.”. I mean, why you would be thinking about beating up such a small girl is beyond me, but for arguments sake. In Alice: Madness Returns Alice can enter simply what is known as Hysteria. Understand that you DO NOT want to fuck with her at this point.
She bleeds from her eyes, has large blood soaked weapons, looks like a demon, and is all around creepy and scary as hell. See what I mean past the break. Alice: Madness Returns is coming out June 14th for the PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360. READ MORE

Two major titles coming out this year just got their release dates and not only will they be out earlier than many of us expected but it looks like the dreaded summer drought just got a lot less painful. The first game is the long anticipated Shadows of the Damned, and it’ll be kicking down store shelves on June 7th. This game is set firmly in the action/horror genre and has some of the greatest minds in the industry behind it, specifically Shinji Mikami (Resident Evil), Goichi Suda (No More Heroes) and Akira Yamaoka (Silent Hill).
