Matt Skiba And The Sekrets Release ‘All Fall Down’

Matt Skiba And The Sekrets Release All Fall Down

Matt Skiba (Alkaline Trio, theHELL) has recently announced another new project titled Matt Skiba And The Sekrets which features Hunter Burgan from AFI and Jarrod Alexander of My Chemical Romance. Along with that announcement the band released their first single “All Fall Down” which you can listen to HERE!

The song is definitely catchy and I must admit sounds a little reminiscent of Adam Ant. Or maybe it’s just because of the press photo that was released. Anyways, the band’s first full length, Babylon will be released May 8th through Superball Music. A tour is in the works so keep in touch with BD Music for further updates!

H2O Goes Back To Their ‘Roots’

Legendary hardcore/punk band H2O are heading into the studio to record a cover album featuring some of their favorite songs. The album, appropriately titled Don’t Forget Your Roots, will feature the following bands: The Ramones, Dag Nasty, Madball, Rancid, Circle Jerks, Descendents, Cro-Mags, Bad Brains, The Clash, GovernmentIssue, Verbal Assault, Gorilla Biscuits, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, 7 Seconds, Embrace, Social Distortion, Sick of It All and Warzone. Just to name a few. I’m a huge sucker for cover songs especially when done by a band I enjoy and have a lot of respect for.

Lead singer Toby Morse had this to say: “This album is extremely important to us. These are bands that inspired us to start a band and who have inspired our personal lives. Also with so many young kids getting into hardcore every day, it’s good to always keep exposing them to the ROOTS of this music and getting them into some of the originators of hardcore/punk. We have all gotten to see this bands play live when we were young so covering their songs that made us happy and inspired as kids feels amazing and we feel honored.”

“This record is a rock record but our punk rock upbringing definitely shines through, more so than our last few records,” – singer/guitarist Matt Skiba. “The vibe is similar to our humble beginnings. It’s a step forward but I also think it has glimmers of our past in it.”

“I think that we wanted to make a punk rock record that we’ve been describing as ‘thinking-man’s punk,’” said Skiba. “We wanted to do something that’s fun but also interesting and lyrically, something that will be fun for people to read along to and hopefully understand.”
