We’ve got a double header for you to soften the blow of it being a Monday. Bloody-Disgusting has scored the exclusive premiere for the new Allegaeon video ‘Biomech‘ AND we’re giving away a full prize back which includes a t-shirt, signed poster and more! The song ‘Biomech‘ comes from their latest release, ‘Fragments of Form And Function’ (review here), which you can get from iTunes. All details are after the jump.
‘Fragments of Form and Function’ is Allegaeon’s debut full-length album. Signed to Metal Blade Records after their self 2008 EP, which just so happened to be produced by Dave Otero (Cephalic Carnage, Matriden, Cobalt), Allegaeon has put together a blistering 10-track LP that lyrically touches on stem cell research, cryonics, evolution and much more. With such deep and touchy subjects as basis for messages, Allegaeon should theoretically be able to back it up with music that is equally deep and complex. Do they manage? Check after the jump to find out.
Colorado’s premiere metal band, Allegaeon, is currently premiering their song A Cosmic Question exclusively on RevolverMag.com! The song is up in the form of a youtube video that allows you to follow along with vocalist Ezra Haynes’ lyrics. A Cosmic Question’s lyrics pose questions about the nature of the universe and what we as humans REALLY know to be “truth”. Watch the video and read an interview with Haynes right now on RevolverMag.com.
Allegaeon studio videos, live videos and more are available right now on metalblade.com/allegaeon. On that site, you can also find exclusive pre-order deals from the Metal Blade webstore. Allegaeon’s debut album, Fragments Of Form And Function, hits streets on July 20th, 2010!
Colorado’s ALLEGAEON have unveiled the cover art for their Metal Blade Records debut, Fragments of Form and Function. The art was done by none other than Colin Marks, who is known for his intense artwork for the likes of: Scar Symmetry, Nevermore, Strapping Young Lad, etc. Fragments marks the band’s first full length release and was produced by Dave Otero (Cephalic Carnage) and recorded at Flatline Audio in January 2010.
Vocalist Ezra Haynes discusses the concepts behind the album: “The concept of Fragments of Form and Function is in one way or another science related theories. Some of the topics we touch base on are cryonics, stem cell research, evolution, pharmaceutical structure and so on.”
Colorado’s ALLEGAEON (pronounced: uh-lee-juhn) are giving the metal site StereoKiller.com the exclusive premier of the first single and title track off their upcoming Metal Blade debut, Fragments of Form and Function. The track is currently live and streaming HERE so be sure to check it out and leave a comment for the band. Fragments of Form and Function marks the band’s first full length release and was produced by Dave Otero (Cephalic Carnage) and recorded at Flatline Audio in January 2010.
Vocalist Ezra Haynes comments; “We just recently finished our debut album Fragments of Form and Function. Working with Dave Otero again was a blast. He was definitely able to capture the sound we were going for, since we’ve worked together in the past it was extremely comfortable and easy for us just to go in there and hammer it out. We’re glad he’s been a part of our Metal Blade debut and after hearing the end results we couldn’t be more pleased with the final product.”
ALLEGAEON’s Fragments of Form and Function will be available in stores and online on July 20, 2010 (US and Canada).

Colorado’s ALLEGAEON (pronounced: uh-lee-juhn) has joined forces with Metal Blade Records! Formed in early-summer 2008, with the release of their self-titled EP immediately following, ALLEGAEON has quickly spread their brand extreme metal locally, nationally and internationally, with many accolades from fans. Their 2008 EP was produced by local studio magic man Dave Otero (Cephalic Carnage, Martriden, Cobalt). With only 4 songs, ALLEGAEON managed to captivate an entire new legion of dedicated supporters worldwide and with a live show that is as engaging as any, are sure to win over many more fans to come.
The band comments: “We all are super stoked to be a part of this legendary label. Metal Blade to us is the past, present and future of metal. With new tunes that will be equally crushing and catchy, we look forward to producing an album that will most definitely turn heads.”
With a genre stuffed to the brim with countless copy cats and pretenders, ALLEGAEON have come to the table with a dynamic, memorable and focused take on extreme melodic metal. You’ll find just as many slow grooves and hook-laden riffs as you will blast beats. This is a band that focuses on song writing and less on making music into an athletic speed competition. Their music is rounded with an intellectual edge that’s forged by the band’s collective musical prowess and polished by Ezra Hayne’s thought provoking lyrics. Once again, Denver’s own Dave Otero (Cephalic Carnage, Martriden, Cobalt) will be at the production helm for their Metal Blade debut, which is slated for sometime in the second quarter of 2010.
The band has recently released their video for Nex Of Terra from their 4 song EP, so make sure to check that out on the band’s youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/ALLEGAEON
