We’re only a week away from the season premiere of “American Horror Story: Asylum”! FX has tossed away the 300 annoying teasers and has finally released something worth your time — how’d you lime to see the opening 5 minutes of the premiere?! I want to wait for the premiere, so I need you guys to tell the other readers what YOU think…

Being committed October 17, the new season is set at an East Coast asylum for the criminally insane in 1964, and revolves around Jessica Lange’s new character — a nun — and her boss at the institution, played by James Cromwell.

In Episode 1 – “Welcome to Briarcliff” (Airs October 17, 10:00 pm e/p) – “Welcome to Briarcliff Manor, a notorious insane asylum home to the deranged serial killer, Bloody Face. Lurking in the shadows of this “sanctuary of healing” are terrifying evils that blur the boundaries between reality and insanity.” Written by Tim Minear; directed by Bradley Buecker.

FX has aired a new television promo for “American Horror Story: Asylum” entitled “Enter the Asylum”. Being committed October 17, the new season is set at an East Coast asylum for the criminally insane in 1964, and revolves around Jessica Lange’s new character — a nun — and her boss at the institution, played by James Cromwell.

Emmy winner Eric Stonestreet has booked himself a return trip to FX’s “American Horror Story,” series creator Ryan Murphy told TVLine. In Season 1 of “AHS,” Stonestreet guest-starred as Derek, a psych patient who was terrified of urban legends such as “Piggy Man.” This time around, in an episode of “American Horror Story: Asylum,” which is set at a 1960s mental institution, Murphy says the actor will play a killer. “Heeeeere, piggy pig-pig…” “AHS: Asylum” premieres Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 10/9c.

“Dexter” returns September 30 with the show’s Season 7. Showtime has released three new featurettes that have been added inside. Episode 7.01: “Are You….?” “After witnessing her brother kill Travis Marshall, Debra (Jennifer Carpenter) attempts to reconcile with Dexter (Michael C. Hall) while struggling to cover up their involvement with the murder. It’s been an absolutely insane post-holiday news explosion, so we’re rounding up some fresh TV stories in this edition of News Bites.

Showtime has released a 4-minute long featurette that goes behind-the-scenes of “Dexter” Season 7, which premieres September 30. Here’s the synopsis for Episode 7.01: “Are You….?” “After witnessing her brother kill Travis Marshall, Debra (Jennifer Carpenter) attempts to reconcile with Dexter (Michael C. Hall) while struggling to cover up their involvement with the murder. Meanwhile, Detective Mike Anderson has an unfortunate run-in, Quinn and Batista begin to make amends, and LaGuerta finds evidence that causes her to re-think the closed Bay Harbor Butcher case.”

The team behind AMC released a Social Network-style one-sheet for “The Walking Dead that celebrates their 10 million fans. In Season 3, premiering October 24, “Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and company will face a brand new threat – one that is very much human. While Rick and the gang are busy clearing out a prison in the hopes of transforming it into a protective fortress, not so far away is the town of Woodbury, Georgia, and its self-appointed leader, the Governor (David Morrissey).”

EW got their hands on 10 stills featuring the primary cast in character and, for my money, it looks more interesting that Season 1. Also – it’ll feature Aliens? Per the article, ““aliens, Nazis, and a serial killer named Bloody Face who wears a mask made out of his victims skin along with black nightie and opera length gloves.”
