Andrew W.K. Announces ‘The Human Party Machine Solo Tour’

Party rocker Andrew W.K. has announced a long string of N. American tour dates that will see him performing in intimate clubs and bars with only a keyboard and a microphone.

W.K. states, “I’m truly excited and also terrified by what will happen at these shows. It’s designed for maximum chaos and to put us as close to the abyss as possible. But we’re going to survive and thrive, because we’ll be in it together, arm-in-arm and heart-to-heart, becoming a human party machine made of blood, love, and courage. Get your friends together and let’s fucking do this!

The current tour schedule can be seen below. READ MORE

Andrew W.K. Is Going To Electrocute David Blaine

Party rocker Andrew W.K. has teamed up with magician David Blaine for the illusionists next performance: allowing 1,000,000 volts of electricity surge through his body courtesy of a ripping keyboard solo. Yeah, you read that correctly.

Here’s how it works (taken directly from the official PR release): “As part of Blaine’s Ultrabook Experience event, Electrified, Andrew will perform a unique keyboard solo using a tesla coil powered instrument in which David Blaine will be imprisoned as 1,000,000 volts of party music surge through his body. Presented by Intel, Electrified will find the master magician this weekend standing on a 20-foot-high platform at Hudson River Park Pier 54 in New York, surrounded by seven towering metallic orbs – or tesla coils – that will stream 1 million volts of electricity around him for 3 days and 3 nights.

Andrew W.K. states, “A 1,000,000 volt keyboard??? This is absolutely a once in a lifetime musical experience and probably the most dangerous musical instrument ever created! I’m absolutely electrified and terrified by the opportunity to play a keyboard solo with so much energy, and to use this incredibly powerful device to send a musical surge through David’s brain! I just hope he can withstand my high-powered party piano playing!

Now, as you can imagine, Andrew W.K. will not be doing a 3 day/3 night keyboard solo. Instead, he will be rocking it out this Sunday, Oct. 7th, at 7:30pm EST. There will also be Ultrabook stations scattered in cities around the world where fans can operate the Tesla coils. On top of that, the whole event will be livestreamed here. [Ridiculous] Andrew W.K. Presents The First Ever Pizza Guitar

Andrew W.K. is never one to do things in a normal fashion. Hell, if anything, it’s the complete opposite. And that’s why he went to ESP Guitars and put together the world’s first official pizza-shaped guitar. Below is a picture of the monstrosity as well as a video showing W.K. rocking it out in front of a double stack of amps and cabinets inside of a pizza parlor in New York City.

W.K. said, “For over 8 years, I dreamed of creating a guitar made out of a slice of pizza supreme. This dream has finally come true, thanks to the incredible ESP guitar company. I first remember meeting with ESP in Japan, back in 2003, and I think they thought I was a little crazy. Well, they were right… I’m crazy like a pizza! After years of design, hand-crafting, and fine-tuning, the amazing guitar masters at ESP have finished the world’s first ever pizza shaped guitar, and it’s as beautiful as it is delicious.”

Allen Steelgrave, ESP director of marketing and artist relations, said, “We love Andrew’s pizza guitar, not only because it’s one of the more unique instruments we’ve ever made, but it shows off Andrew’s amazing personality as a musician and performer, and it also is a great example of how there really are no limitations for people who dream of creating a custom guitar from ESP!” READ MORE

Andrew W.K. Announces 10th Anniversary Tour For I Get Wet
Ten years ago, Andrew W.K.‘s I Get Wet was released and suddenly he was everywhere. Seriously, I remember hearing him on the radio, hearing about him performing on late-night talk shows, being on movie soundtracks, etc, etc, etc… But I was kind of proud because the guy and I went to the same high school, albeit the fact that I missed actually going to school with him by two years or something like that. But no matter, it was still kind of awesome.
Now, Andrew W.K. has announced that he will be doing an anniversary tour, where he will be performing the entire I Get Wet album at each show! Check below for tour dates.

OMFG Of The Day: This Is What Zombies Do When They Wake Up In The Morgue

Too impatient to click the ‘Read More’ button? Okay, I’ll clue you in: it’s a lighthearted song about death arranged by Matt & Kim and featuring Andrew W.K. and Soulja Boy. Full of amusing gore and zombies having a good time, this video kinda makes me want to join the ranks of the undead!

Andrew W.K.: Obsession (Check) Restraining Order (Check) Super Creepy (Check Check Check)

We all got in trouble as youths. Some of us set things on fire or stole a car or got into a lot of fights. Well Andrew Fetterly A.K.A Andrew W.K. was no exception. At age 17 he landed himself a juvenile restraining order because of a song he wrote detailing his obsession with a fellow schoolmate. The following is him explaining the whole situation along with the song titled “My Destiny” that got him in trouble.

andrewwk17 Andrew W.K.: Obsession (Check) Restraining Order (Check) Super Creepy (Check Check Check)

“I was in high school in the 1990s, in a town called Ann Arbor in Michigan. I had a crush on a girl and was deeply and passionately fixated on her. She had a baby face, a 14-tooth smile, large eyes, a crowned forehead, an over sized brow and a tender style. She consumed me with both lust and hatred – lust, because I was truly drawn to her beauty and soft skin, and hatred because she rarely spoke to me, wouldn’t look at me much and never gave me a chance to show her my deep affections. I used to call her house just to listen to her say, “Hello?” Then I’d hang up, terrified and shaking with nervous ecstasy.”
