Ex-Guns N’ Roses Guitarist Slash Scoring Horror Film

Ex-Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash (Velvet Revolver) has announced via his Facebook that he will be scoring the upcoming horror film Nothing To Fear. It is the first film through his horror production company Slasher Films and it has been picked up for distribution by Anchor Bay.

Slash stated, “Going into the studio tonight to work on “Nothing to Fear” score. It’s really coming together. Iiii]; )’

The film’s IMDB description says, “A family’s journey toward a better life is interrupted by an unstable man of the cloth.” It is being directed by Anthony Leonardi III, who did make-up for The Cabin In The Woods, and stars Clancy Brown (A Nightmare On Elm St., Starship Troopers), Anne Heche (Nip/Tuck, Psycho), and more.

There’s ‘Nothing to Fear’ When The Gateway To Hell Opens

Content is delighted to confirm production commenced on Slasher Films’ horror film Nothing to Fear last Monday, May 14 in Covington, Louisiana. Anchor Bay previously acquired US rights.

The cast includes Clancy Brown (The Shawshank Redemption), Anne Heche (Rampart), James Tupper (Mr Popper’s Penguins), Jennifer Stone (Wizards of Waverly Place), Ethan Peck (In Time), and Rebekah Brandes (Bellflower).

Nothing to Fear is the first feature from the horror shingle launched by iconic rocker Slash (Guns N’ Roses, Velvet Revolver) and Academy-Award winning producer Michael Williams and Rob Eric (Transsiberian, Session 9, The Fog of War). At the directing helm is Gore Verbinski protégé Anthony Leonardi III, who has worked alongside Verbinski on such films as Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, Rango, and the upcoming Lone Ranger. Leonardi has also worked as a creature designer on many films, including Francis Lawrence’s Constantine and the upcoming 47 Ronin.

‘Nothing to Fear’ is the tale of a family whose journey towards a better life in a small town is savagely derailed by a charismatic but emotionally conflicted man of the cloth. The movie is based on an actual town of Stull, Kansas, which is surrounded by Internet folklore proclaiming the town to be one of the seven gateways to Hell.READ MORE

Colm Meaney Is A Member Of ‘The Occult’

Colm Meaney (pictured inside; “Hell On Wheels”, Get Him To The Greek) is the latest actor to join The Occult for The Grey producer Mickey Liddell.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, “Colm Meaney, one of the co-stars of AMC’s Hell on Wheels, has joined the cast of The Occult, an indie thriller from LD Entertainment.

Rufus Sewell (Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, Dark City), Anne Heche (Rampart, Nothing to Fear) and newcomer Alycia Debnam-Carey have all been announced for the thriller which The Roommate director Christian Christiansen will helm.

Story follows a small commune dealing with a prophecy that predicts the coming of the Devil’s daughter. As the shared 18th birthday of five girls approaches, a sequence of murders causes panic to spread through the community, making some wonder whether the prophecy is coming true or if someone is silencing those who know too much.

‘The Grey’ Producers Make Pact With ‘The Occult’

The Grey Producer Mickey Liddell has made a deal with the Devil for The Occult.

Rufus Sewell (Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, Dark City), Anne Heche (Rampart, Nothing to Fear) and newcomer Alycia Debnam-Carey are in final negotiations to star in the thriller, which The Roommate director Christian Christiansen will helm, says Variety.

Story follows a small commune dealing with a prophecy that predicts the coming of the Devil’s daughter. As the shared 18th birthday of five girls approaches, a sequence of murders causes panic to spread through the community, making some wonder whether the prophecy is coming true or if someone is silencing those who know too much.

Liddell and Pete Shilaimon will produce with Michael Zelman, while Jennifer Hilton and Scott Holroyd will exec produce. Liddell will finance the pic through his Liddell Entertainment banner and release it through the company’s new distribution wing.

It will go into production this month in North Carolina.

Liddell most recently produced Open Road’s Liam Neeson starrer The Grey, helmed by Joe Carnahan, which cost $20 million to make and has grossed more than $50 million worldwide since its January 27 release. READ MORE

Clancy Brown Becomes An Evil Pastor For ‘Nothing to Fear’

Clancy Brown (A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Burrowers, John Dies at the End) and Ethan Peck (In Time) have joined the cast of Nothing to Fear, the horror thriller being directed by creature and storyboard artist Anthony Leonardi III as the feature producing debut of former Guns ‘N Roses guitarist Slash and his new horror label Slasher Films, says THR.

Anne Heche, James Tupper and Willa Holland are already on board for the movie which “centers on a family whose journey towards a better life in a small town is savagely derailed by a charismatic but emotionally conflicted man of the cloth.” Brown is set as the evil pastor while Peck will play a townsperson with a past.

While Gore Verbinski’s protégé and visionary director Anthony Leonardi III is still prepping Nothing to Fear, described as a “terrifying vintage horror film”, Anchor Bay has snatched up the rights to the film. Nothing To Fear is being produced by Slash’s horror shingle Slasher Films.

Per Deadline, “Anchor Bay Films has acquired Nothing To Fear, the first film produced by Slasher Films, the horror label hatched by former Guns n Roses guitarist Slash and the producing team of Rob Eric and Michael Williams. Anthony Leonardi III is directing. He has been the lead creature artist and storyboard artist for ‘Constantine’, ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean 3′, ‘Rango’ and the upcoming ’47 Ronin’. Slash will be co-producing the score of the movie.

Slash, a longtime fan of genre films, formed the label to make smart horror films. He is a regular at the Sundance Film Festival, where he comes to watch films.
